Interview with April and Chason
We begin tonight with national attention on a local boy from Durant.
<shows a clip of Drew telling Diane he chooses to evict her>
Did you see it? From 3 down to 2 and Michael Cowboy Ellis takes over Diane to move onto the Final episode on Tuesday. You can bet that his family and most of Marshall and Bryan counties are watching every step of the way. Here's Lorra Lynch ...
Reporter - Lorra Lynch - It's been 78 days since April Ratliff last put her arms around her favorite Cowboy.
April- It's exhausting now, I'm ready for him to come home just so he can answer the phone for a while.
Lorra -- which is easy to understand - they have only spoken for 3 minutes over all the days that have passed. A difficult task for April and Michael's relationship. But, one that she says has only made them stronger.
April- It's proved positive because I know now that I miss him and this is what I want to do - I really wasn't so sure when he left but now I know that this is right so..
Lorra - she said that the constant questions from strangers hasn't bothered her-
April- I hear the same story probably 30 times a day - You know is going on the show ...
Lorra - and her son Chason has thrived on the attention.
Chason- It's kinda like I'm the popular kid in school - and that they like me and there has been one million kids that have asked me - if my dad is on TV and I'm like yeah
Lorra - but she realizes that viewers across the nation and here at home may have different opinions about the man she loves-
Tonia Hickman- ( big brother fan) They are probably looking at him like he's a big hick - basically I think ...
Ben Onstott - ( big brother fan)at first I thought he was being the normal Oklahoma and stuff but the more and more that I watched the show I saw the strategy that he was playing the guy that's not dangerous to anyone and it seems to be working
Lorra- while criticism can be hard to swallow- April has found a way as the days have gone by to accept the attention of the public eye.
April- it's been a real positive experience so I don't mind it ...
Lorra - and says whether he wins or loses- comes home with a half a million dollars or his cowboy hat - she's only got their future together on her mind.
April- I've dreamed about it - like the moment that we see each other-
News reporter- Now since Cowboy won tonight- April will be getting on a plane for the first time in her life- to fly to LA - for the final episode- the couple reunites on Tuesday night- where April expects producers to introduce Michael to his father for the first time in his life. We will be covering this- there is big watch party planned in Durant. We will be there. More details to come.
