Alex Coladonato smart, funny, articulate three words that probably best describe this Big Brother 9 house guest. The 24 year old, DJ company owner from Staten Island, New York entered the Big Brother 9 house fully expecting to play the game of his life. Alex, being the nice guy that he is, emailed me and let me know that he would be coming home from his vacation in Aruba on Saturday.

After playing a bit of email tag with him yesterday,  I ended up talking with Alex our other favorite guy Johnny from Johnny's house. I hope that you'll enjoy reading the interview and keep in mind that there will be more to come...

Alex- Hey Lexie
Lexie-   Hey Alex
 
Lexie-  Ok let's just jump right in feet first -  question #1 and I'm not sure this one is something you want to share with the world -but I'm gonna get it out of the way - is it Daniele from Big Brother 8 that has you smitten?
 
Alex-  Absolutely... she's one of the sweetest girls I have spoken with. 
Lexie- cool with me... I loved her on the show- you know those Donato's people either love them or hate them.
Alex- Well... Cola"Donato" lol
Lexie- yea- but you already know that America loves you - the "Cola" in donato  must mean love
Alex-  lol thanks
 
Now, at this point I moved on hoping to get more into that question later and I did but the only thing that I will disclose at this point in time on that subject is that Alex and Daniele are "talking". Although, we did hear Alex on House Calls asking Dick's permission to take Daniele out.

Lexie- Once you realized that you would be playing as "couples" who was your first choice to be matched with ( had you had a choice) ? And, what were your thoughts once you heard "couples"
Alex- Ok my first choices were Amanda or Jen just based on looks. When I heard couple my first thought of was oh God because everything I had trained for... planned out... discussed... had to go out the window... I was ready to win this game Lexie... not just be on the show.

 
Lexie- Yeah, I knew that you were ready to win. Johnny( BBU member JohnnyTremz)  had talked with me and the members of BBU - once you were on the show- and he told us in no uncertain terms that you were ready to go all the way to the end. We knew from chatting with Johnny that your plan was to align yourself with Matt. And while we watched the show ( and the live feeds)  - we saw that beginning to happen ( even with the couples train wreck) - Looking back at that now- and knowing what you know- do you think that Matt was still your best choice of an ally in the game?

Alex-  No I  don't... my best ally probably would've been Allison.
 
Lexie- Hmmm interesting - why Allison?
 
Alex- Listening to her speak she was one of the smartest in the house.... and knew the game the best. In a singles game she would've been perfect to implement my plan with.
 
Lexie- despite what some people think of her from the show I agree she knew how to play the game. The whole couples deal really threw her game plan off the map I'm sure. I never really saw you and Allison talk that much - did you ever think of approaching her or did the couples completely dismiss any reason for an attempt?
 
Alex - Allison came up to me day 1... I was willing to align with her. But then they announced couples... and Amanda and her butted heads very early. I had to stay true to my partner and therefore it was not possible at that time.
 
 
Lexie- I guess the most obvious question is what went through your head when you heard that America had voted you back in and then when that didn't happen ?
Alex-  Good thing they had security guards there.
Lexie- really!
 
Alex-  But in my head I kept saying why would they make people torture themselves voting for a week and then have it mean nothing. It was horrible.
 
Lexie-  What did they actually say to you - when they announced that it was not you but James who had been voted back in - could you hear it live? And, what did the others like Parker have to say about the whole mystery box deal ?
 
Alex  -  I never saw Parker and the rest after I won the vote. They moved them to a separate spot. But I hear afterwards it was shocking for them as well as shocking for me. Basically the impression I got from the people involved was that they were in shock too. So I guess the twist kind of backfired on the show too.
 
Lexie- That's for sure!
 
 
Lexie -   What was sequester really like with Amanda?
Alex-  It had its ups and down. Everyday was a routine... wake up eat breakfast, work out , take the sun... shower... eat dinner.. watch a movie... go to bed.
 
Lexie-  Do you regret winning the first HOH ?
 
Alex-  Absolutlyyyyy I didn't want to win it at all. I was kinda not trying to win at first. But then I didn't want Ryan and Allison to win so I went for it. I know Johnny was pissed because that's one of the things he emphasized to me before I left... DO NOT WIN 1st HOH.
 
Lexie- yeah I bet Johnny let out a big Nooooo... when that happened! Here's a "what if" question - What if Jen had been your partner and then she divulged the secret to you about her and Ryan.  Could you have played keeping that secret?
 
Alex -  Yes!!! She would have not opened her mouth. In hindsight I wish I wouldn't have known about Jen and Ryan until way later... because it would have kept me there.
 
Lexie- How do you think that would have kept you there?
 
Alex -  Because if I don't know about it, James and Chelsia go up and my alliance would not have been broken. I made a mistake thinking too much about past seasons and I should have worried about myself more.
 
Lexie-  Wow- James and Chelsia up- how that would have completely changed the game. Speaking of worrying about past seasons- how hard is it not to try to base your game play on past seasons- the ups and downs of moves that were made?
 
Alex-  Its very hard because prior to going in the house that's all I did was study past seasons. Seeing how people with my personality played and how they made mistakes ... weighing the pros and cons.
 
Lexie-  And once in the house it's completely different - not to mention being paired up with a partner that you didn't chose. I know many people once you were nominated wondered why you just didn't ( even though you gave your word to Matt) just go for it and do all that you could to try to stay in the game - was it just because of what you promised Matt or was there more to it?
 
Alex-  Well I gave my word to Matt and I said I wouldn't go against him. I showed the true person I was to America. Yea maybe that was the wrong play all together but I think in the long run I will be happy with myself knowing I didn't come off looking like a backstabber etc..
 
Lexie-  I agree and sticking to your word in this season is a rare thing. Ok.. so we know that Johnny told you #1 Don't win the first HOH - what was the #2 rule?
 
Alex -  Stick to your game plan going in the house. Knowing what you need to do making one true alliance and a bunch of fall back ones creating a pyramid of sorts with me at the top. He told me don't include emotion... I should have been more nasty in the game... 

Lexie-  You - nasty? I don't see it- maybe more cunning - but again your hands were tied by Amanda's action. You know our heart went out to you when we watched you on the live feeds trying to reason with her - and I even hate to ask this but inquiring minds want to know- did you know all that she was saying about you to EVERYONE in the house about touching her? 
 
Alex- Yes I found out from Matty and James, they said "you better check your girl".   And then I found out during the whole Josh thing about "rape" and that's when I flipped and had to call her out on everything -  The whole Parker situation.. etc...
 
Lexie- but she never seemed to "get it"  - it was like something was missing - like she only heard a word here and a word there and then turned it on you- even as nice and kind as we saw you being to her - is that how it came off to you in the house?
 
Alex -  I tried to make it work as best as I could.... she thought I was trying to run things and make it me me me ... but she screwed it up because even when all this BS came out I wanted to show America who I was as a person even when going home.
 
Lexie-  What a nightmare she was for you and your game. Enough with her!  Well at least you know that America saw, heard and wanted you back in the house.
 
Alex -Yes thanks to that.
 
Lexie - Ok a routine question for you - What was it like having the cameras on you 24/7 ?
 
Alex -  It was awesome.In my business I have cameras on me all the time. Was I nervous to do a number 1 and number 2... yes lol
 
Lexie-  I don't think I asked that .. lmao
 
Alex -  haha sorry too much info?
 
Lexie  nope never! I know you've been on vacation- have you watched any of the episodes or the live feeds since you have been out of sequester?
 
Alex- I watched the episode when Matty went home and tonight's
 
Lexie- ok so if you were on the jury now- out of the ones left in the game- who would you like to see win the money?
 
Alex -  I am rooting for Adam... but today on the feeds I heard him say some stuff about using "my daddy's" money to start my business and how I didn't need to win this money. Funny that the facts are my business was created well before my father passed away. Johnny is telling me Adam was getting this supposed info from Matty so I'm not going to take it personally. I'll root for Baller.
 
Lexie-  Yeah can't take all that stuff personal - and I think that is just what they assume about you - interesting that you are rooting for him- I know a lot of others are suddenly looking at him differently than they did at the beginning- we'll see if he can survive.
 
 
Lexie- Speaking of Matty before- What's your take on Matty and Natalie and well the under the cover action?
 
Alex - Matty said from day 1 he wanted to be the player in the house and get every girl... god bless him if he did it... Natalie like I said to her she's a sweet girl but she doesn't have all the brains in the world. Maybe that's why she did what she did with Matty.
 
Lexie-  yeah  - she's like a lost puppy - gotta love her - I guess. Is there anything that I haven't asked that you wanted to get out there? I know you mentioned something about the shirts that you were wearing on the show and I talked about that with Johnny in the interview I did with him. When will that website be up and running?
 
Alex-  Well there's a few things with the clothing. One is that all the shirts I wore on the show will be signed by me and put on E-Bay in the coming weeks with a portion of all proceeds going to my fathers 9-11 foundation.  Secondly, www.TackyGarb.com will be up and running very soon with a new twist on the shirts you saw... plus a few new ones as well... I am very excited about the results and the positive feedback has been overwhelming.  And lastly everyone has been asking about donations to my fathers foundation.
 
Lexie- yes please let me pass that information along.

Lexie-  that's true- but I just pictured all those girls dialing it up - mass phone usage in Staten Island

Lexie -Ok one more question for you - and it's for you and for Johnny ( he's my man too you know ) right now - who is playing the best game?

Alex - Playing the best game is either Sheila because she's under the radar every single week or James because since he's been back he's winning non stop.

Lexie - and Johnny's pick?

Johnny -  Adam because he went from almost being gone week one to almost never being spoken about in a bad way. He has been the ultimate kiss ass telling everyone he has their back etc. and yet no one does anything about it... the others put themselves ahead attention wise and therefore get put it up. That could all change thought with him as HOH now.
 
Lexie-  thanks - great answers !

Lexie- I wanted to let you know that out of the 8 years that I have been doing this I have never promoted a particular house guest- never. I've always tried to keep my personal feelings aside - letting the BBU members have the say. But this time around- Johnny's enthusiasm for you made me break every rule ... lol -
 
Alex -  Well I appreciate that so much... thanks again. Johnny told me that you were promoting me before the season even started and that you had a huge part in me being America's vote.  (Johnny jumps in... make sure you promote me as much when I'm on lol)
 
Lexie- Oh it was my pleasure- and you know I got your back Johnny !!!
 
Lexie- Is there anything that you would like to add- anything that I missed? Any thing that you wanted to say?
 
Alex- I just wanted to let America know that I truly appreciate everything they tried to do for me. I am sorry the votes meant nothing but I will keep them close to me and hopefully something will work out. And I cant wait to say that I love them all at the finale.
