Oh Boy Howie!! Oh Boy Lexie! An unusual interview with Howie Gordon
For the past 3 days, I've been trying to interview Howie Gordon. Each day, I waited for his telephone call and each day passed and no Howie. I was making all kinds of excuses for him. He's busy getting ready for the CBS announcement, he's busy since the announcement was made and so on. But what I didn't know was, at the same time I was waiting for him to call, he was calling me - over and over and over again. I won't go into all the details but let's just say that there's no one out there in the world like Howie Gordon! Poor Howie, he never gave up! He tried his line land- his cell phone - I think I even heard him shouting out LEXIE on his way down the freeway because that is where we finally met up. When he finally got me on the telephone, it was almost midnight my time and Howie was driving home from the set of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (more information on that later). He was laughing, shouting and asking me what the **** was going on with me and my telephone! Now, I've conducted numerous interviews with past Big Brother and Survivor contestants and they were all delightful - but nothing compares to this one. It was funny, it was raw and it was 100% Hurricane HOWIE!

As I said, the interview started with Howie shouting OH BOY LEXIE - what happened - your number is F***** !! As I apologized and tried to explain, Howie was very kind and somewhat lost, I think, which prompted me to ask "Are you driving?" He explained that yes he was and he was just searching for the right directions to get home. The conversation grew quite as I listened to Howie read out directions. - silence - then he says to me - "So, what are you doing?" I had to laugh- here I'm suppose to be conducting this great interview and I feel like I'm chatting with an old friend on his drive home. But, that's just the way that Howie is and so the interview goes. Because now, Howie's interviewing me!!
We talked about what I do with BigBrotherUpdates.com and I, of course, invited him to stop by. He asked me what my favorite Big Brother Season was - which, of course, I answered with no hesitation - Big Brother 6! We talked on about Season's 2 and 3. Howie liked Season 2 with Dr. Will. I talked on about Season 3 and that lead us to Howie being Howie talking about BB3's Lisa. Just let your mind drift back to all those Howie moments last season, then let your imagination take you the rest of the way and that's where our conversation went regarding "what if" Lisa is in the house with Howie.
The next thing you know, Howie's asking me if I know where can he get some good Chinese food in California. Now, of course, I don't but as I said this "interview" is like talking to a good friend. He was charming, charismatic and I'm still thinking he might be lost! At this point, Verizon should have been filming a commercial - as I could hear nothing but silence, static and then occasionally one of us saying "Can you hear me now?" "Hello? ", "Can you hear me now? " Good". Whew! I thought after all the troubles that we'd had hooking up that I'd lost him! I'm sweating at this point, but wait, no, he's there I can hear him saying "Oh boy, sexy Lexie"! I decided I'd better get down to business before I actually did lose him and ask a few questions - that was, in deed, what I was suppose to be doing - wasn't it?
So, I asked him the most obvious question - Why do you want to go back and play the game again/ back in the house again?
Howie answered - it's a great time - there's no clutter - there's no mail - you just go in there - lay out in the sun - chase some babes - you eat good food and you compete for some privacy in front of the nation. But, there is stress involved - it's a job - there is work involved. We chatted on about last season's winner Maggie. Let's just say there's still no love lost there. Then onto the possibility of BB3's Marcellas being in the house with Howie this season - which lead us to a few "Oh my little Bo Bo" - as we reflected back on Beau and Howie last summer. Once again, just sit back and remember all those Howie and Beau moments that took place last season. I gave Howie a little insider information that I'd found out about some shenanigans that might be pullled on Howie if he and Marcellas are indeed in the house together. We both agreed that Howie and Marcellas in the Big Brother All Star house would be something that we would not want to miss!
I asked Howie about the tension that is going on between himself and James. It seems that something went astray in a chat and so now James isn't speaking to Howie. I asked what all this would mean if he and James were back in the house together again. Howie said "Who knows - Only time will tell, we'll see what happens - maybe we'll be buddies, maybe we will hate each other, maybe we will use each other to our advantage, or maybe we'll put each other up (on the block) - who knows - we'll see". I know I'd like to see those two back in the house again just to see how this will all play out. We talked on about James being the Veto King last season. Howie promises that "James has big problems if he is going up against him for vetoes this year." Howie assured me that "we are going to see what he can do this year" ( in terms of winning veto competitions). I think this Jedi is more than ready to play the game again!
Oh no....Wait, we're back to - Howie, are you still there? Can you hear me now? The line is dead.
The phone rings once again- with Howie asking "Why did you hang up on me?" We had a good laugh and talked more about how he wants to return to the house and looks forward to playing the game once again. After we played a guessing game "Where does Lexie's accent come from". Which I've got to hand it to Howie - it only took him two guesses to figure that one out. I reminded myself that I needed to be asking those interview questions that I had worked so hard on.
So, I asked - Out of the list of returning houseguests, if you could only pick one , who would you pick to go back into the house with you?
Howie answered that "he had just met Diane ( BB5) just now. So, maybe that would be good - he could get her in the house and get a little play"
I reminded him that Diane had said that she wasn't going to fall for any guys this time around- so he said "maybe Lisa or Alison - just all the chicks - just get all the chicks in there and he could work his magic." He continued - "it could be Howie and 11 girls - that would be the ideal cast." But then we quickly decided against that as he would most likely be the one to be evicted first. That Jedi charm only works for so long in a house alone with 11 chicks!
I asked him " Of the people on the list - who did he think he could trust most in the house this time around?"
Howie said as much as he wanted to tell me - "he could not answer that one- it would put a big target on his back."
We talked a bit more about what he'd do differently this time around. Again, he wouldn't reveal much, no wanting to give away any strategy or any preset secret alliances.
We talked on about what he's been doing since last season. He's certainly been a busy guy. He's been doing some commercials, working his way to doing some speaking roles, some stand up comedy in Toronto, Canada, a music video on VH1, he was on the E! channel "101 Craziest TV Moments hosted by Jenny McCarthy, he mentioned Blind Date and Elimidate that he had done prior to Big Brother. He's been on Fox Reality Remix a number of times, in fact he was on there again yesterday, and he was on the TVGuide Channel. He talked about the many charity events that he's attended since being on Big Brother 6, which includes Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. He added that perhaps after he does All Stars, if he's voted in, that he would like to do maybe one more Reality Show, then concentrate on becoming a Meteorologist. I asked him if he would consider doing the Batchelor or any show like that and he answered "absolutely"
We chatted a bit longer about All Stars, his website HowieGordon.com - which he invites everyone to stop by and check out. I reminded him again about all his fans here at BigBrotherUpdates.com. We talked more about James, then onto BB4's Erika ( who btw did stop by and give a shout out to her fans here) and how hot she is. Once again, use your "Howie imagination" and run with it.
I asked Howie - if he's back in the house does he plan on doing any more back yard streaking"
He said "absolutely, if no one's getting naked how fun can it be?"
That conversation brought us to the Live Feeds. I reminded him that we are out there - watching everything they do and say.
That led us to talk about his nakedness some more and then oops - back to the "Hello - Hello Can you hear me now? " Oops, silence again. Remember, Howie's been driving all this time. So, this time, I called him back! A few more laughs about how this interview came and what a comdey of errors it had been and we were back to talking about the live feeds. We talked about what a comic relief he was last season in the Big Brother House. Again, he was very gracious and promises 100% more of Hurricane Howie if he's back in the house this time around.
I told Howie that if he was going to be streaking that he needed to get a tattoo that said BigBrotherUpdates.com so I could see it on TV . He laughed said he probably couldn't get away with that on the TV show - but we made up some code words for the Live Feeds that he could slip in so we would know he's talking to us. (we won't give those away just yet- wouldn't want the producers finding out) *wink*
We talked a bit more as he was STILL driving home. I asked if he had been told anything about sequester - he said "no, they wouldn't know anything until after the campaigning ended on June 28th."
So what's up for Howie now? He's heading off to Vegas (today) , then Chicago for the weekend and onto New York by Monday for an apperance on the CBS Early Show.
Howie reminds us that " Big Brother without Howie is like a day without sunshine!"
So, head on over to CBS.com and vote Howie back into the Big Brother house this season. This was truly one of the best and most unusual interviews that I've ever done. He truly is a remarkable, genuine guy and he's right it just wouldn't be Big Brother All Stars without him!

I really do hope Howie and the other do use the live feeds this season- much like Dr. Will used the Diary Room to talk to us and get us involved in his plan. Hey, at this point in time, all the houseguests know that we are out there - they should play to that. Hopefully, that will be a big plus this season for all the loyal live feed watchers.
