Interview with Big Brother 4's David Lane
BigBrother7
Interview with BB4's David Lane - by Lexie

I recently had the pleasure to ask David his take on the Big Brother 4 season. In true David style, he answers each question very candidly. Find out what he thought about his time on the show, what he's been up to since he left the BB house and what his plans are for the future. You will also find out how you can win some crazy autographed prizes from David himself!

Lexie - David, it's been rumored that you did not apply for Big Brother 4, but that you were recruited to be on the show, if that is the case,  did you have to stop and think about your decision or did you just dive in head first?

David - Once they told me that the grand prize was $500,000, I jumped right in and just needed to know where I had to be and when I had to be there.

Lexie - Were you a Big Brother fan? Did you watch any of the other Big Brother shows? If so, once you were in the house was it like you imagined it to be or was it totally different?

David - First of all, I'm not a fan of Reality TV.  I never watch it except for Monster Garage or any of those mechanic type shows.  I never heard of Big Brother let alone watched it.  I was forced to watch BB3 during the casting finals because the producers wanted to know what I thought.  The house looked different but the same.  One obvious difference was the size.  The house looks a lot bigger on TV then it is.

Lexie - Since you had never even heard of Big Brother, what made you say Yes?

David - The cash and the fact that I knew just about every reality show has hot chicks!

Lexie - The Ex- Factor threw some of your fellow house mates strategies a little curve. What was your first thought when you found out that your ex-girlfriend Michelle would be on the show with you and did it change anything for you in terms of the game and your strategy to win the money?

David - I was relieved to find that the ex was Michelle.  It didn't hurt my strategy. It only potentially helped me.  We could have used each other because we were still good friends before we walked in the house.

Lexie - Do you feel like your chances of going further in the game would have been different if the Ex- Factor hadn't been a factor?

David - Maybe.  If there were no exes then there wouldn't have been the original alliance of 8.  Who knows how the game would have went if that didn't happen.

Lexie - On the night that you were evicted, if it had been Jack rather than you, what would your next step been, who would you have targeted for eviction?

David - If Jack was gone then I would have went after Jun. I'm not saying that because she won, but because she was the only one in the house that I couldn't manipulate.  Once she saw that she couldn't pull me around by my johnson, she wanted me out.

Lexie - Following up on that question - do you think that you would have been able to remain in the house until the end or would you have been going stir crazy?

David - Are you kidding me?  No one could beat my mental toughness  in that house.  There isn't anything that they could've thrown at me to break my mind.  Just because I act crazy and cooped up, it doesn't mean that it really gets to me like it does the other hgs.  But I don't think that would have had anything to do with how long I'd last in the house.  There are so many factors involved.  If it was sheer mental stamina competitions, then of course I would have won the game.

Lexie - Who would you have liked to be in the finals with and why?

David - Anyone except for Jack.  I think I could've had the majority of votes if I was against anyone.  I really didn't piss on anyone too bad and everyone seemed to like me for different reasons.  Jack is the only one who is generally liked by all and I think it would've been a close call.

Lexie - While you were in the house, what was the one thing that you missed the most?

David - I always miss the beach.  Hell, that's one of the main reasons I didn't stay in the army when my contract ended.  But I've been away from it for so long before that it didn't really  affect me.

Lexie - I know that you kept the Live Feed viewers entertained with your one on one camera time,  after a while did you get use to the cameras following your every move?

David - I was use to it the first week.  That's what the show is all about and I already prepared my mind for it before I went in.  I really enjoyed fucking with the people on the other end of the cameras.  It killed a lot of time and was a great boredom buster.

Lexie - What was the most difficult part of being in the house for you?

David - It was very hard for me not to slap everyone for being a bunch of pussies.  I can't stand people who bitch and moan.

Lexie - Knowing what you know now,  given the opportunity would you do it again and would you do anything different?

David - Sure I'd do it again!  There are a lot of things I'd do differently.  I won't show my intellect so much.  I think I should have lost some of the chess games.  But I love chess and I couldn't pass up the chance to kill the other people.

Lexie - After you were voted off the show, what did you do?

David - I had a couple of beers with my buddies and talked tons of shit about most of the other people in the house.  Then I went back home and continued my life. I've been doing a lot of surfing and putting a lot of effort to keep my website a fun place to visit as well as answering all my fan mail.

Lexie - Did you watch the show or even more interesting did you watch the live feeds?

David - My computer is pretty slow so I didn't see much of the live feeds.  I had to live with those freaks! Why would I want to get bored to death by watching more of them.  I saw probably about 6 shows after I was booted.

Lexie - What were your feelings based on what you saw while watching the shows that you did, as oppose to while you were actually there - was there anyone or anything said that shocked you?

David - No.  The show sucks balls and I'm pissed at the editors for not putting some of the cooler shit that happened in the house on the show.

Lexie - If you had been a member of the jury, who would have been your choice - Jun or Alison and why?

David - I don't know.  That is a tough decision and I'm not gonna hurt my brain even trying to think of what I'd do.  It's over and there are no more "what if's" so I don't care.

Lexie - Who from the show have you remained in touch with?

David - Erika, Nathan, Amanda, and Man troll ha ha.

Lexie - Did you get the mattress that Erika had for you in her garage?

David - Yep!  I'm gonna have to fill up some of the space with a lady!

Lexie - Have you talked to Michelle at all? Did her parents really say that you weren't welcome in their home?

David - No, her parents never said that and they told me that Michelle made it up.

Lexie - I can't help but ask about your night with Amanda - any regrets?

David - No regrets, except for mixing so much wine and the beer. Amanda is great and I would've done it all again.

Lexie - Following up on that question - It was pretty evident that she was going to be evicted that night - if by some chance she had remained in the game - do you think that your close relationship with her would have benefited you or would it have turned out to be a mistake in terms of playing the game?

David - It would have been a mistake because then everyone would have seen us as a couple and would want to split us up.

Lexie - I also have to ask you about your night with Alison -  after the show did Alison say anything to you about that night or about the mouthwash?

David - Yeah she said "MOUTHWASH!!????!!!"

Lexie - LOL -What was it like at the wrap party? Did Dana and Alison talk at all? How was Jun?  And most importantly - did you really skinny dip in the pool there?

David - The wrap party was alright. It was mostly for the crew who worked on the show to mingle with us.  I only had a chance to talk to the people I wanted to very briefly.  I really didn't see who talked to who so I don't know.  Jun seemed a little upset that no one would talk to her.  As for the skinny dipping, I guess you'll never know huh?

Lexie - I'm taking that as a yes !! I see you don't skinny dip and tell !! -Any advice for anyone wanting to do a reality show?

David -Not really, just be yourself.

Lexie - Would you pose for Playgirl if asked?

David - Maybe, I'd have to think about it.

Lexie - What did you Army buddies have to say about you being on Big Brother?

David - They got a kick out of seeing me be me on national television.

Lexie - Do you have any plans to ever re-enlist?

David - As much as I would love to sometimes, it'll never be the same.  That's something I'm just gonna have to accept and just have fond memories.

Lexie - I know that you like to surf, have you had time to do much of that since Big Brother 4?

David - That's all I've been doing!

Lexie - What else do you like to do for fun?

David - Wax my dog.

Lexie - Lucky dog !!

Lexie - What's your favorite music ?

David - Classic rock and heavy metal.

Lexie - All time favorite movie?

David - Braveheart

Lexie - You are 21 and single  -  any plans to change the "single" anytime soon?

David - Hell no! Now that was a silly question wasn't it?

Lexie - LOL ...Enquiring minds want to know and you mentioned filling up your new bed...

Lexie - What's the first thing you notice about a woman that you are interested in?

David - Looks, I'm not gonna lie.  She has to catch my eye for me to be initially interested.  Do you mean body part?  All of them, especially the face.

Lexie - What's your funniest memory of your time in the Big Brother house?

David - Jee getting hit in the head with Justin's paddle.

Lexie - Best and Worst memory?

David - Don't have either really.  It's all kind of one big blur.

Lexie - What has you life been like since leaving the Big Brother House?

David - It's the same except for the occasional recognitions by some people.

Lexie - I understand that you are currently seeking employment in the entertainment field. Is there a certain area that you would like to focus on?

David - Hosting, maybe some commercials.

Lexie - You spoke of your new website earlier. I've visited, of course, and I love it!  It's very creative - I've had fun rearranging your face on the Home Page and no one should miss the Photo Gallery. I especially like the  fact that you are there answering questions and just having a good time with your fans.   It's appropriately called DavidLaneBB4.com.  I encourage everyone to check it out HERE.

David - Thanks for all of your interesting questions.  Thanks for putting a little more thought into it than the "did you ever bang michelle" questions. I'm gonna have my t-shirts available next week on my site.

Lexie -   Thank you David for taking the time out to do this interview, it was great to hear your side of the story and I wish you all the luck in the world with your website and with your plans for the future!
