Interview with Erika Landin - by Lexie

I had the pleasure of interviewing Erika, she shares her thoughts on the X Factor and how it changed her game plan, reveals why she voted for Jun, and let's us catch up on what's been happening with her since she left the Big Brother House.
Lexie - Watching and listening to you on the live feeds, we learned that you had applied for the Amazing Race which is a very demanding and physical show. Big Brother is more of a mental challenge - what made you want to do Big Brother?
Erika - I think that I can be strong physically and mentally, something I stated in my Big Brother interviews. The AR was more attractive to me because of the chance to travel. I knew it would be very challenging for me to be isolated as I was in the BB house. However, I knew that I would be up to that challenge.
Lexie - Did you have a particular strategy in mind on how you would play the game?
Erika - I went into the house trying to make a working relationship with everyone (as minor as that relationship may be). I felt I had a leg up on most people since I work with a variety of people from all ages and races.
Lexie - Following up on that question - We all watched and felt your reaction when you learned about the "X factor", and we could tell how disappointed you were. What were you thinking to yourself when you first saw Robert walk through the door and how did your strategy change?
Erika - I want to get the hell out of here. My strategy changed because I knew he would make me out to be the biggest bitch on the planet and I would have to try to be the nicest person on the planet.
Lexie - Did you ever seriously consider walking out the door?
Erika - Yes, many times. The first few weeks for me were unbearable.
Lexie - Do you think that your chances of going to the end would have been better without the X factor or do you think that it created so much controversary between everyone in the house that it let you settle yourself and get your head back in the game?
Erika - There are so many variables and factors in that game that who knows what would have happened. Oh yes, I would have won.
Lexie - Looking back on your experience now, are you glad that you had the opportunity to kind of clear the air with Robert? Have you been in touch with him since the show? Any salsa dancing yet?
Erika - I feel that forgiveness is the key to life. For me, I needed an apology from him in order to be able to forgive. We have not been in touch since the show and have just decided to move on with our lives.
Lexie - Your compassion for Scott was touching - have you been in contact with him since you left the BB house?
Erika - I tried to track him down but have been unsuccessful. If anyone knows how to find him please email me.
Lexie - I know from my interview with David that you and he have kept in touch with each other. Have you had the opportunity to see or talk to any of the other House guests?
Erika - Nathan, Jack and I have all be in contact with one another and Jun has emailed me.
Lexie - Rumors have been floating around that you might have an upcoming part on the Young and the Restless - any truth to that?
Erika - If it's true someone should let me know.
Lexie - Speaking of rumors, once you were out of the BB house, did you have the opportunity to read any of the message boards and see all the activity that was created about you dating Josh?
Erika - Yes. It's kind of funny to read all of that.
Lexie - Maybe you could put to rest one of the main questions that everyone was debating - Did knowing/dating Josh give you the inside track to Big Brother?
Erika - No, not at all. It was a totally different production company and type of show.
Lexie - How long have you and Josh been together?
Erika - 2 and 1/2 years.
Lexie - What are your plans for the future with Josh?
Erika - He'll be my lifetime cook, maid, dishwasher, gardener, and....uhmmm.... love slave.
Lexie - LOL...That's a great plan !! Speaking of Josh.. Other than Robert, did any of the other HG's know that your J.A. was Josh from BB1?
Erika - No one but Robert knew.
Lexie - That's interesting and it's explains a lot, that while it was creating such an uproar outside of the house, on the inside it was such an non- issue. Were you as surprised as we were that Robert didn't tell everyone?
Erika - I was surprised Robert didn't tell anyone and I still don't know why he didn't. Go figure.
Lexie - Did you keep your relationship with Josh a secret because you were fearful that it might become an issue and possibly give your house mates a reason to evict you?
Erika - I really wanted to keep my private life with Josh sacred and didn't want to make it a part of the game. However, I wanted to give him a "shout out" because I missed him like crazy, thus the J.A. shirt.
Lexie - The night of "The Cage" competition ( which had the live feed viewers glued to their computers and the live feed transcribers - like myself - bound and determined to be there with you all the way to the end ) how long would you have stayed there if Jee hadn't of made a deal?
Erika - Until the cows came home and they took my rotting corpse from the cage.
Lexie - That is what I thought - I knew you were in there for the long haul no matter what. Were you wondering what on earth Alison was doing when she just kept standing there after you guys had pretty much sealed the deal that she would step out of the cage?
Erika - Alison was so paranoid, her last words out of that cage were, "You're not going to put me up are you?"
Lexie - Is there anything that you wished you had done differently in terms of teaming up with someone as far as alliance in the house went?
Erika - No. I probably would have tried to make more of a secret alliance with Robert if I could have.
Lexie - You out of everyone in the BB house, were probably more used to having a camera on you since you've done movies and commercials, but was it hard to relax with your every move being watched or did you find yourself just taking it in stride?
Erika - I didn't find it difficult to be in front of the cameras. The diary room sessions were a little tedious and grueling.
Lexie - What did you miss the most while you were in the BB house?
Erika - My boyfriend, my dogs, my mom, and my friends.
Lexie - Once you were able to watch the show, was there one of your house mates behavior that shocked you more than you expected?
Erika - Nobody really shocked me. I expected the worst and hoped for the best.
Lexie - Following up on that question - did you read any of the live feed transcripts ? If so .. anything there that surprised you?
Erika - I have not read the live feed transcripts. I spend too much time answering my emails.
Lexie - What was the atmosphere like in the jury house when you arrived?
Erika - Same people, different house.
Lexie - In the jury house, did you all discuss and share things with each other about things that had happened in the BB house? If so, did learning about certain things influence your final decision between Jun or Alison winning or was your mind already made up?
Erika - We shared a few things but my mind was made up that I was not going to vote for anyone that did not apply for the show. Robert was therefore out. I had already made up my mind that I was going to vote for Jun because I appreciated the way that she played the game.
Lexie - How do you think your time in the house would have been without Jack there as a support system for you?
Erika - The house would have been hell and I could not have made it through without him.
Lexie - Following up on that - if Jack had not been in the house - other than the obvious connection that you had with David, who do you think you would have teamed up with?
Erika - I think I would have wanted to team up with Jun.
Lexie - Once you and Robert settled your differences, what did you think your chances were of going to the finals with him?
Erika - I considered taking Robert to the finals but I thought it wiser to take Alison.
Lexie - If you could have had your choice of someone to be in the finals with, who would that have been and why?
Erika - Alison, because I think I had the best chance at beating her. But so did everyone else.
Lexie - Any news on how Cuff and Link are doing ?
Erika - They are safe and sound in a sanctuary in Santa Barbara. We could only be so lucky.
Lexie - Is there one funny moment that sticks out above all the rest for you - if so what was it?
Erika - The best moment was making the home video and pretending to be the jury members.
Lexie - How has your life been since you left the BB house?
Erika - My life is back to normal. I am working like crazy and keeping really busy.
Lexie - What was the first thing you did when you got home?
Erika - I played with my dogs and returned some phone calls from family.
Lexie - Are you working with any charities?
Erika - I actually am auctioning off a phone call on EBay with proceeds going to Diabetes.
Lexie - Have you been approached by Playboy yet? You said in the house that it would be something that you would consider doing, do you still feel the same way?
Erika - I have not been approached to do Playboy yet, but I would still consider it.
Lexie - What is your favorite all time movie?
Erika - The Godfather
Lexie - And your favorite type of music?
Erika - Anything that inspires me to dance.
Lexie - Did you have a particular role model growing up?
Erika - I have always looked up to my mother and still do.
Lexie - What are your future plans as far as entertainment/movies offers go?
Erika - I think I would consider any opportunity that came my way, entertainment or otherwise.
Lexie - There is talk of an All- Star Big Brother, if given the opportunity would you do it?
Erika - Of course....I ...think....I don't know....maybe.....?
