Edited by Lexie to add info

Jerry MacDonald

Age: 75
Hometown: Magnolia, TX via Wilkes Barre, PA
Occupation: Great Grandfather/Retired Marketing Executive
Marital Status: Married

Jerry is a diehard Big Brother fan and hasn't missed one episode in all nine seasons. He even watches Showtime After Dark and the 24/7 feed.

Jerry left high school in the 10th grade then, at age 38, returned to college. He went to Central State, Rochester Institute of Technology and Penn State and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Management ten years later. Before then, he spent four years in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1954. He has been a devoted husband to the same woman for 54 years, and stays physically fit so he can take care of her as she has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Jerry has two children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He feels he has an excellent marriage and attributes a good marriage to allowing your partner their own space.

Jerry worked for 38 years in a sales/marketing environment and retired as a general manager at a multi-million dollar sales and marketing organization. He describes himself as being very competitive and says that being number one has been a driving force in his life. He likes to play golf and shoot pool and watches basketball, baseball, tennis and golf. He volunteers at an abandoned animal rescue, serves as a property manager, enjoys playing cards and working out at the gym. His favorite movie is "The Ten Commandments" and he listens to big band music, rock and roll and Elvis Presley. The perfect day for him is one where he is in touch with his family.

The political office he'd most like to hold is that of President of the United States which he thinks of as the most challenging. His heroes are those who serve in the military and he believes they deserve credit for the fact that we live in a free society. He describes himself as liking to touch, being fair and considerate.

His birth date is March 13, 1933.

WOW! 75, this will be GREAT! i cant wait to see what bb has for comps, and veto's....JMO, with older HGS bb might have comps, and veto's along the lines of questions about the HGS, and past bb seasons, my great grandpa is 92, and he still drives across the US [by himself]...he has all his hair, and he tans Laughing .. the downfall of him being 75 is that the younger HGS always seems to want to take the easy way out, and get rid of the older HGS.. first, i hope not.. Crying or Very sad

hah!! That's awesome!! I would've LOVED to have seen Adam or Ryan try to jump a hurdle like that!!!

I'm seeing it in slow motion, with the Bionic Woman noise and all of the gathers and rolls bouncing out of sync as they hit the hurdle and fall to the grown, belching. LOL!!

NEVER underestimate the old guys...wisdom and treachery triumph over youth and exuberance any day of the week!

I can't wait to "meet" him. At age 75 there are still a lot of spunk left in many people. If he's proclaimed himself the biggest BB fan, it will be interesting to see his strategy. Will he team up with the younger crowd to win the physical challenges? It would be neat to see him as a puppeteer like Dr. Will. Just some random thoughts.

Yippee to an older person in the BB house. It's about time they have a little age diversity in there. I'm sure they've chosen an "impressive" mature person to fill the casting slot. There are lots of older people with lots of spunk and fire. I work in an area where I have to advise and assist people who are 60 and up with pensions and I have had the pleasure of experiencing more than a few people up in their 90s who would put many in their 50s to shame. Sadly, I have also dealt with way too many who are only in their 60s and old beyond their years so it's really such an individual thing I think.

I hear ya Blondesarah! I specialize in Medicare Supplements and mainly work with 65 yr olds and up. It really DOES depend on the individual. We have many clients who are in their 80's and STILL working a full time job. Some even have 2 or 3 part time jobs. Like you've experienced, some are really "hip" and with it and in good physical shape (and 80 yrs old) while some are in their 60's and about ready for the rocking chair on the front porch! lol.
Jerry sounds like a gem. The one thing that caught my eye was when I read that he is a HUGE BB fan! If he was, or is married, with children and grandchildre, or has had many experiences in his lifetime, he will do well on the show. I know that older does not always mean wiser - but his years of lifetime experiences coupled with his love for BB should serve him well. kwim?
