Yeah, I can see LOTS of threads this year that are going to be titled either:
'The Thread for (insert HG's name here') Lovers Only'
and
'The Thread for (insert HG's name here') Haters Only'

After watching Dan’s interview, my opinion has changed slightly. Maybe, just maybe he isn’t an obnoxious (censored). Perhaps most of what he said, and how it came across can be stuck up to him being “Young, dumb, and unable to stay mum” Sooner or later he will stay something toopid, and will cheese people off. This will do one of two things: 1) Make him a target. 2) Make him everyone’s choice to take to final two. (easy to beat)

Visions of the All Star Season...I hope we have all learned a bit of restraint since then. I know I have.

Dan seems to have an abundance of self confidence...what else can you say about someone who calls himself "The Golden Boy"

I watched the interview with Dan, and I thought "Isn't he precious". Just think he is out there teaching our next generation. He said he thought that women were equal to men, but I got the feeling that he did not really believe that. I don't care about his political beliefs I can tolerate that, but I don't like someone saying that because you have a tattoo or body piercing that you are weird and trash. Hummm maybe that is because I have a tattoo (small one).LOL I don't dislike him yet, but if I was around him I might have a tendency to spill things on him a lot.

Sunkiss - you were right...his actual interview definitely feels very different than the bio garbage and he doesn't come across as nearly as schmucky as the written word tells us he will...
Still think he's a hypocrite but, that's a completely fair starting point for this game, so that could be an advantage for him. I'm just not okay with his objectifying of women and broad stereotypes. Honest to God, he could meet me in person as an active mentor in our Catholic youth group, lector and Eucharistic Minister - red hair, blue eyes, freckles - I absolutely look like Holly Hobby as a grown up...he'd think we could be the best of friends until, I guess, I wear a cropped tank top and a pair of shorts and he sees MY THREE TATTOOS AND (the remnants of) MY BELLY BUTTON PIERCING!! The belly button ring came out when I was a couple of months pregnant with my older guy and never went back...
I'm of a very mixed mind about Not here, so I don't even fault him for that...it's just a general feeling - I like Trelane's characterization - Matt-hole.

Jerry
Renny
Brian

JustMom a SA is a smart "aleck" to put it nicely....I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to be snarky asking why people didn't like him....
The tree hugger comment isn't out of normal to me, always heard them reffered to that way...piercings and tats, not for me but don't like the word trashy used to describe really anyone {except baby and women beaters but there is a better word for those}..

Thanks, Cougar...I was wondering too and, no matter how hard I tried, kept reading that as "Not to be a South American..." and I KNEW THAT wasn't right, but couldn't get any further!!
For me, I think my problem with him is that his written bio, more than any of the others, seems laden with his self-righteous opinions on broad stereotypes which just makes him a lightning rod for comment...the PETA girl's bio didn't say that she thinks all meat eaters are murderers, for example, but here he is with all this name calling, right out of the gate...
His interview definitely comes across differently, though...he's on my pooper list until he proves different.

After reading Dans bio I watched his interview and it didn't really change what I think about him. Let me first say that him saying that vegans are tree hugging hippies really hit a nerve with me since both my parents are, and have been vegan for 15 years and they are not hippies. So maybe they love nature and my mom likes some "grass" every now and then ( ) but they are stand up citizens who live in a very very nice neighborhood and both hold great jobs. (Okay, now that thats off my chest...) I can deal with Dans political views. And I don't really think he would have moved out of the country, especially if he really cared about his job and the kids he teaches as much as he said (over and over) that he does. (What kind of role model would that be!?!) But after all of his "issues" I truely believe he will be a good player. I know I won't be rooting for him, but I think he'll be able to go pretty far in the game.
