    Morning all.

Paulie, Corey, and Nicole were finally brought down a lot of pegs. It was beautiful. I guess we see what happens with the PoV today. It would be great if Michelle or Nat could win it.

sdkgeo, I love how on BBAD last night, Paulie was acting like they (he & NiCorey) could convince James to come back to them and vote to keep whoever didn't win the Veto (Like him or Corey winning is a for-gone conclusion) in the house. YES Folks, he is that delusional.

  • #3
Morning geo and all who follow,

Step one of the house reconfiguration has started. Paulie, Corey and especially Nicole, know that either Paulie or Corey are going home next thursday. Nic obviously wants to win the PoV to pull Corey down, or have Corey win it to pull himself down. They know that is the only chance for the house to potentially flip back.

The house is not going to flip.

Paul approached Nat about Nat and James teaming up with Paul and Victor. Nat demurred and said she wants to keep the 5 (Nat/James/Paul/Vic/Michelle) as a unit, and then worry about what happens, after Nic/Paulie/Corey are out of the house. There is a low probability that Corey/Paulie/Nicole are not going to gain power in the next 3 HoH's. (We know, and they know, that someone is either coming back via RT or from a jury returner, since they can do that same math nonobadfish can do - even if I can't ).

My current assessment is that the house is not in a stable equilibrium, the final winner is not necessarily going to come from the 5. Just like getting Paulie or Corey out now makes sense for the rest of the house, getting Vic or Paul out sooner makes sense for the others as well. There are not insignificant probability's that the F3 are going to be Nicole, Nat and Michelle.

The next turn in the game is going to be after the results of the PoV today. If Paulie does not get off the block, he will go home Thursday, Then all the rest of the week will be Paul lining up the post Paulie house to favor him, and Nat coming into her own within the game.

((( KeninVA )))) The actual truth is that you CAN do the math (everyone on this site knows you are brilliant), but you let me do it for you so you don't have to get down in the nerdy BB details. Actually, they could do without a returnee IF (and that's a big if) they give up the second DE of the season. But I can't imagine them doing that since the DE episodes are their highest ratings. Or they could do a reset button and have a week where they send no one home. I hate those weeks, though...so I hope it's not that.

MrsVee, Nat has been tracking the goings on in the house for awhile, but has lacked what is termed "agency" in game theory, the ability to make a move. With this big shakeup, she has gained a measure of influence in the house with both James and Michelle. Should one of them gain power, or herself, she will be able to direct a move in the game. I am hopeful that she thinks about what it takes to win, and realizes her best bet is a F3 will the other two girls.

I dont post hardly ever because I always seem to be in the minority of who I like and root for...that being said I hope Paulie wins the POV today or has the ticket to come back in...that would really shake things up....I was rooting for Paul or James but I hope they go home soon.

    Good morning BBUers.
So, Paulie has said he will use the POV to take Corey down from the block if he wins it. What a load of ****. He's trying to get Corey to take HIM down if HE wins it. And to insist Nicole take down Paulie if she wins it. Dang he's good. Had he not gone to such a personal NASTY level with the girls I would have to admire his game. He's really trying to turn on his inner Derrick now. To bad it's to late.

See, I never saw Paulie as 'that good'. I always thought he was way too brash and forward about getting his wishes done by the rest of the house. I was just surprised that it took so long for the rest of the house to realize what he was doing. I suspected that quite a few of them did know what he was doing, but Paulie had so many people in his alliances that the others were hesitant to approach anyone else with a plan to go against him (especially the guys), AND, IT APPEARS THAT COREY NEVER DID CATCH ON TO WHAT PAULIE WAS DOING! (LOL)

Just read where Nat, Meech and Nic are the have nots for the week with Nat being exempt because of CP. Food is sunflower seeds and corn on the cob. Wonder if Nat will sleep in the HN room to support Meech and to troll Nic at night. Last night Paulie got it from James, Paul, Nat and Meech. All non-stop talk about anything and everything with a lot of laughter throughout. Nothing bad nor mean spirited. I like this group.

Even better Lyvone, Paulie or Corey wins veto and comes down; then the other is evicted and has the round trip ticket. That way, the entire week was for nothing. I'm glad I read your comment. I don't feel like I'm on the island by myself anymore!

Good Morning Geo and all who follow:

Following Victor nabbing his second HOH in a matter of a week BB fans finally got their desired house shake up with Paulie and Corey landing on the block. With Bridgette gone as expected Nicole got the Safety care package.

Most of the day was spent with the above trio dealing with the nominations similar to people going through the 5 stages of grieving.

Denial: At first Pie & NiCorey were convinced Victor would stick with the men and put up Meech and Nat as his nominations. Paulie even had a speech prepared for the ceremony in which he planned to delivery mid nominations despite the fact he isn't the HOH. Corey was convinced Victor would put up the girls since he hadn't put Vic up in DE. The only one of the trio who entered the day nervous was Nicole who begged America to send her the care package.

The denial became compounded post delivery of Nicole's care package as again the trio who've previously scoffed at the other winners are sure Nicole received it because they (N/C/P) are the most popular in the house. Paulie convinced himself Nicole got it since he is beloved and Corey opined she received it because of his DE HOH & POV wins (huh?). Technically Corey is correct because had Bridgette not left she would have received it (which Cute pointed out yesterday).

Anger: Once the ceremony was over Paulie wanted to know who sold him out and demanded to know who was behind Victor's decision. Nicole ranted that James was completely at fault for the trio's demise. It's funny how quickly both of them have forgot they've done the same thing repeatedly in the game to others.

The comments Paulie made during the initial exchange with Victor showcased his increasing anger with the situation as he transitioned from denial to anger. Lexie covered it brilliantly beginning on page 6 of yesterday's Live Updates.

During the conversation Paulie claims to never have been in any other alliances (lie), that he was fine with Zakiyah leaving (lie), that he wanted to go to the end with the F5 and would never target them (I won't say it's a direct lie, but given he just finished making plans to target James since Zak left and had discussed putting up James & Paul to back door Victor had Nicole or he won HOH I'd say LIE).

At one point he warned Victor "don't get heated, because I can too".

Later, a comment he made demonstrated his expectation of special treatment saying if he goes to jury there is nothing TPTB can do to force him to stay & he'll only lose his stipend. WOW! You would think TPTB would be less driven to help him with a return ticket hearing him say things like that, so if the jury do end up competing to return I hope it's something girls would fair better in just based on that statement!

Bargaining: Paulie kept trying to get Victor to tell him who the target was and Victor held his own. Though Vic maintained his desire was to split the guys up he did tell Nicole and Corey he'd prefer Paulie leave.

Paulie continued to push Victor throughout the night asking if a girl would go up if one of them came down to which Victor replied yes Meech (who volunteered to go on the block in this situation) would be the replacement.

Paulie made his rounds to clear the air with each of the hamsters outside the trio and in each situation told a different story. To Victor he said he wouldn't come after him and tried to cement the F5 coming back together, to James he said he would honor their alliance (with Corey), to Nat he denied coming up with the FT comment or that he was the inventor of it saying 15 people were saying it including James (which was a blatant lie since James only found out about it on when Paulie told her she admitted to having them and James said what is FT?) and with Meech he denied things he had lied or had multiple alliances blaming her and Bridg for blowing up his game.

Even Nicole got in on the action as she now is trying to forge a relationship with Natalie claiming her shyness/weirdness as a reason why they hadn't bonded earlier and in response to Nat saying I tried on multiple occasions to talk and get to know you. Nat explained Nic would either give her no response, a quick reply or get up and leave the room.

Suffice to say ownership of any mistakes the trio made isn't forthcoming.

Depression: If it weren't for how he's treated so many people in the same situation I'd feel worse for Paulie who shed real crocodile tears. Nicole and Corey were less demonstrative, but both were unusually quiet as they processed the situation.

Acceptance: Nicole was the first to recognize one of them will be leaving this week. Corey knows he has to either win the POV or make sure Paulie doesn't in order for him to be safe. Paulie isn't quite there yet at least outwardly as he still is saying if we can get Meech up we just need to flip one vote. At this point I think he believes that person is Paul but he's the most committed to ousting one of them.

Moving forward NiCorey are going to attempt to realign with James/Nat to form a new bond, but simultaneously will target them if they are in power. Paulie is on an island. Winning POV is the only way he'll avoid eviction & IMO Nicole in this scenario will do what she can to align with anyone other than Paulie.

I wrote a second post (coming up next) on the care package which got rather long so I made it a separate post. I invite everyone to comment on it because there are a lot of things to consider with the Co-HOH CP more so than any of the previous CP's.

''Corey opined she received it because of his DE HOH & POV wins''

I didn't hear Corey opine this. I'm the only one I saw say that yesterday. Said it because if Corey hadn't had the surprise win, chances were good that the other, much larger side of the house would have won. So Bridgette would have been safe. So she would have gotten the CP. And Nicole would still be feeling unloved by America.

    Good Morning everyone

I don't have any true faves this year either - and like so many of you have said, that actually makes it better because I don't really care one way or the other exactly who goes home. I think if Paulie goes home, he WILL have the RT - soooo, back in he will come-a-walkin'!!! lol The one HG that for whatever reason, gets under my skin a lot is definitely Meech. I wish she would go walking out that door after this week - she is not a strategist. Meech is a gossiper. All she knows how to do is trash talk other HG's and gossip about them. That is not strategizing. Her game-play sucks (IMO) and I can see why she doesn't get along with her family. Meech is all about revenge - that's about it.

I think since this is the last week, every other HG should should check their envelope out after the Veto, the others should open theirs to see if any of them have the RT - that way production can't change who has it and if Vic/Nat/James/Meech/Paul or Nicole don't have it, they have a 50/50 chance that one of the noms is coming back. Hopefully, one of the other 6 has it and Julie can't pull a fast one and pull out a second card for Paulie. If I were Victor I would have opened mine as soon as I won HOH.

Funny as soon as they all had them, Paulie mentioned doing it then, but of course nobody was going to take a chance of voiding theirs. He has also mentioned that he counted the chips in the POV bag to be sure right amount were in there. Even if Julie doesn't tell them they should open them, I'm sure they will open them on their own. But, yeah, good thought on Victor. I keep thinking James has it.

I have a feeling after she opens Paulies envelope, Julie could tell them to open theirs just to clear the controversy over the envelopes. But once the advantage is over I'd sure open that puppy up.

No they didn't say there would be a penalty only that it would be voided. What you are thinking is if someone damaged another players' envelope 'there may be repercussions' I thought that was an interesting statement as it seemed to imply a player could go open everyone else's envelope & possibly not be punished!

      Power of Veto Players are:

      Head of Household - Victor
      Nominees - Corey and Paulie
Picked Players - James, Nicole and Paul

So *every single person* will be trying to keep Paulie from winning the POV. lol
Or will Corey sacrifice his own game for his *buddy* Paulie?

Sometimes Karma can be my best friend. And sometime we CAN have nice things in the house. I will be cheering on everyone in the Veto Comp except Paulie. I am of the firm belief that it is his time to see Julie. Even if he has the RT, I have enjoyed the taking down of King Paulie. As I said last night, he continues to spew his same lies to the Misfit Toys as though they have not all caught onto his game, lying, and backstabbing. He accuses others of doing just what he has built his game on. He has a warped sense of loyalty, a disgusting attitude toward women, has let his ego-maniacal self-importance overtake his solid game play. He has fostered his own self-demise. Crocodile tears and all, he doesn't fool me. Please, Karma, OTEV, and other BB gods, let this one go home (since he has now stated TPTB can't make him go to jury). That is all...carry on.

If he doesn't go to Jury, he doesn't get to vote in the Finale, right????
I think the reason he doesn't want to go to Jury is cause of Zak, he would have to tell her (with his actions) he used her for his game, and doesn't want her outside the house.

    • #15

The remaining numbers in the House don't justify continuing my Chum List any more, so this the day the Orca goes down.

Everyone is chortling about the downfall of Paulie. Yes, the new Great White Whale (Frank was previous one) has been harpooned and is going down. He understands that and has quickly gone through the stages of death from shock and anger to sorrow and acceptance since the Zak eviction. He is trying to make peace in the House, though no-one is buying it. I do believe he really felt hurt at James' flipping, but felt surprise at how well Victor snowed him. However, he will be really upset at how Paul has played him the whole time.

He WAS into the guy alliance with Corey and James as his Final Three, but like any smart player had side alliances to gather info and cover the bases. But ego, big mouth, and complacency got in his way. Even if he wins the POV, his game has to rely on wins going forward, a la Rachel. Not a likely or smooth path to the end. The five will target him until he's gone, even if he gets some wins. Meanwhile, his pals Nicole and Corey will be the collateral damage.

But what are James, Natalie and Michelle considering doing once their Great White Whale and his pod are gone. Do they realize that they are just guppies to the two sharks who are now circling the chum field?
All the talk about Paulie lying looks rather lame since he was easily caught out, so he wasn't that skillful at it. Worse, he was totally fooled by Vic who is still bitter over his eviction AND by Paul, whom he STILL thinks is supporting him! Those two are the great manipulators. And the clue to their closeness is NOT just the vote Paul gave Victor, it was the fact that the only time Paul has cried was when he had to deceive Victor before his eviction. Anyone else got the "Never cared".

I'll be curious to see the adios messages since those messages to the Jury evictees must be worded carefully. Vic's repeated resentment of Nat's message should have been a clue to Paulie on his lingering bitterness.

I'm not sure that Paul or Vic will take each other to the Final Two. They're smart guys, so I doubt it. Victor will have a compelling story with his return from the dead and comp wins. Paul has his 'friendship' card. Smart players should take them out, but look at their opposition. Even Paulie, who just got shafted directly by Vic is still taking Boy Power. Do James, Natalie and Michelle realize the boys just consider them as chum, gobble it up and spit out the bones? Nicole is appropriately dressed as a road cone - she's certainly no race car. Corey could well end still winning the 50k, just not sitting next to Paulie, since he just won't get the votes needed to win. I do think Paul has set himself up the better of the pair since the blood is on Victor's hands for this move to Paulie; Natalie and Victor still do not like one another; and most important, Paul is misting them all with his friendship bull hooey and 'I'm just a fun guy with a goofy beard and rubber pelican' shtick.

(OK, I gotta add this since been wanting to mention it for days. In the 50's a DA was a haircut like you see in "Grease" and was an abbreviation for duck's A$$. When I see Paul with that ridiculous floatie on, I shout at the TV, 'Paul you are now literally a duck's A$$!!! He's also sending his own private signal that nobody has caught on to that he IS the ultimate floater.)

Obviously Nat controls her trio. I would expect if she and James get put up together that James would do a Brendan if he won POV and take her down. She was already doing the Natalie weedle last night to guys to throw her a win. It was last week's HOH comp rinse and repeat. She may have snowed James, but the guys know she has a spine of steel and can win the right comp. I doubt they'd hand her an HOH, but they may give her this POV just so she can stick it to Paulie one last time.

So, I've babbled on. This is what happens when you're woken up by thunder at 3 am. (Laughed when I saw that TTOTambz also mentioned the stages of death, though in much more detail and style then I did with this early morning epic.) Honestly, even if Paulie wins POV, return ticket or gets the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious special power, they won't stop until the get him. The ultimate irony in this week is that it was Jozea's apostles (Vic, Paul, Bridgette, Natalie and even Bronte with her info nuggets to Victor) who engineered the final destruction of the 8 pack. Holy Moley, maybe Jozea really IS the Messiah?!?!
