Big Brother Season "Digital Edition" coming this Fall - ONLY on CBS All Access

It's official ...

Big Brother will air an new "Digital Edition" of Big Brother ONLY on CBS All Access... the upcoming season (not called Season 19 ) will run 10 weeks and will begin shortly after the Season 18 Finale, which is set for September 21st.

The Hollywood Reporter stated:

CBS has not one but two big twists in store for the next season of Big Brother. The upcoming cycle of the long-running reality series will move to the fall and air exclusively on CBS All Access, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Season run 10 weeks, slightly shorter than a normal season. The new season will come not long after the season-18 finale, which is slated for Sept. 21. It will be an expansion of the franchise and will not replace the annual summer season of Big Brother, which will continue to air on the flagship CBS network, according to a knowledgeable source.

( Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about this, I mean I love Big Brother, but I also love the break from it, it's a grind for us work wise and financially )

I don't know. I need to get a break by the time it's over. On the plus side it would be nice to see everyone around here. Overall I'd have to say......I don't think so.

Not sure how I feel. It will depend on how it works. Will they show the competitions in real time? Will they give us fish all the time?? Will they finally pick a range of houseguest and get away from the all 20's. I know it would be really hard on you Lexie, just not sure. I spend way too much time on the computer now. I am usually ready for BB to be over. We shall see.

CBS all-access does not live stream (for tv) in my area yet, so I would have to watch it all on my computer. Kind of a pain. Don't watch the feeds much now because I just can't see everything very well on my laptop screen. If people are around BBU, I probably will be, too. Otherwise, meh.

Can you get aback HD cable and connect your laptop to your tv?

I don't know, zoziemom - that's a good idea. I need to get an hdmi selector first, though, because my TV is older and only has two HDMI ports; those are connected to my cable and Roku. I'll go to Amazon and order one, then try this out. Thank you for the suggestion. My vision is not very good, and I have trouble seeing faces on the laptop screen.

For $35 or less you can chrome cast the feed from your computer to your TV.

I'll be in. It's BB. I know I will get sucked in. I'm curious about how it is going to work though. Will they have the live feeds and also show the shows? Will they only have a Thursday "live" show?

Good questions sdkgeo . I have no answers, but was also wondering -- since we always hear that the majority of the viewers are not live feed watchers, how are they expecting to hold their audience? Bet they lose a lot of those tv-only viewers when they find out they have to pay for the CBS all-access.

My hubby and the kids are not happy. They know every summer I will be bombarding them with what's going on and since it's only a few months they are cool. But now it will be a couple more months. They will be annoyed and I will be super happy! LOL
