  • New digital edition of “big brother” coming to cbs all access this fall

Big Brother Will Also Continue Its Successful Run as a Summer Series on the CBS Television Network

August 3, 2016 – CBS Interactive today announced a new digital edition of BIG BROTHER will be available this fall exclusively on CBS All Access, the CBS Television Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service. Developed expressly for digital audiences, the new edition of BIG BROTHER will mark CBS All Access’s third original content effort, in addition to the upcoming original series STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and spinoff of THE GOOD WIFE.

In addition to the CBS All Access edition this fall, BIG BROTHER will continue to be broadcast on the CBS Television Network during the summer.

“BIG BROTHER is an incredible success on the CBS Television Network and has always been ahead of its time when it comes to fan engagement,” said Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer, CBS Interactive. “Already, the BIG BROTHER Live Feeds are some of the most popular content on CBS All Access and with this new digital edition we will explore ways to reimagine this format for multiplatform audiences.”

The new digital edition for CBS All Access, and the CBS Television Network’s summer series, are produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol Shine North America. BIG BROTHER host Julie Chen will also be part of the digital edition.

Additional details for CBS All Access’s new digital edition of BIG BROTHER will be announced at a later date.

The series’ 18th season is currently airing Sundays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), which features the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen. Summer-to-date, all three editions of BIG BROTHER on the CBS Television Network rank among the top 5 programs in A18-34, top 10 programs in A18-49 and A25-54 and top 15 in viewers.

They are still taking applications for Season 19 but probably not for much longer being it's only about 2 months away. There won't be any open casting calls for Season 19.

    Apply here:

How long do they give people to get ready to go into the house?

How long are they in sequester before the show starts? I am thinking about applying, but would want all the help from all the BBU gurus here for coming up with a good strategy.

Not sure how this Season 19 ''online only'' version is going to work but I think they are usually in sequester about 1 week before they enter the house. Mainly to learn how everything works and the ''rules'' of the ''game''.

Go ahead and apply Becky. Probably not much time left to apply. You've probably learned enough from being around here and watching BB through the years. If you make it in be sure to give us a shoutout, ''This is beckyd30 coming at you BBU!!'' We'll be rooting for you!

So.. they aren't calling the upcoming "digital edition" Season 19 ....

As that title is reserved for the two new summer seasons that have just been renewed....

Here's a bit more detail on the CBS Press Release ...
