Speaking from the heart ...

Let me just start off by saying that many of you know, that we've been at this going on 15 years now. If you're new and you didn't know. We really have been doing this since Season 2. That's a long time. My own children have grown up knowing that this website is a part of their lives. My summers have always revolved around what's happening on Big Brother, but more importantly what's happening here at Big Brother Updates. I hope I've served you well.

I am not alone in that. Rob, Kenny, Sdkgeo, Purrwing, Linden, Kitty and BBFanShan's families can probably relate. We are nothing if not dedicated to all of you.

As this season ends, it's a emotional time for me. I can't express in words how much all of you, long time members, new members we've come to know, mean to us.

Last season, as a few of you know, we were in deep trouble, not only did we have to face the hard fact that a change had to be made with the website, the live feed sales that we try to rely on for funding the off-season expenses, weren't enough to pay the monthly expense that it takes to keep this website up, let alone more forward with the update. We were in a pickle! I really thought it was going to be the end of BBU.

Thankfully, a few devoted BBU members stepped up and helped provide the funding that was needed to get us up and going. You know who you are : )

This season, I hope, that we've been able to provide you with what you came here for. I hope that you enjoyed this new website. I hope that you enjoyed each other. The moderators here are top-notch, I can't say enough about them to do them justice.

So, here we are...

Season ending, and it's emotional, it's bittersweet, it's all those mixed up feeling between yes, we completed another season and then the fear of , the worry of - - facing that question that we face season after season - - will we be able to survive" to be here for the next Big Brother?

Why do we have to face that every season, you ask?

The most predominate reason is - we're a unique website. We're here all year long, but the bulk of our traffic is only for the 3 months that Big Brother airs. As the season draws to an end, so does the traffic. We push the live feeds sales during the season to help try to get a little bit of padding for expenses during the "off -season". As the case as been during the past several seasons,we've had minimum live feed sales this time around.

This year was different in another way, as well.

Early on the cast just wasn't peaking your interest, it was hard for the majority of you to get a good feel for the season, hard to find someone to root for and because of that. Those circumstances, have a domino effect on participation and therefore in donations. We truly understand.

But, we have to look at the road ahead, to look towards not only surviving over the next few months, but to the real truth about being able to be here for Season 18 of Big Brother. And to be truthful, we are a bit worried.

We don't want to be in that " what are we going to do spot" that we found ourselves in during the off-season last year, we want start now and reach out to all of you, new members especially, and as you, if you enjoyed your time here and you'd like to do it all again in June for Season 18, please consider making a donation to help us be able to continue on now and to stay strong during the off -season.

We hope you'll continue to enjoy your time here. We're here for Survivor, The Amazing Race and pretty much any other television show you'd like to start a topic about. There will be Episode Discussion threads each week for both Survivor and The Amazing Race, play along in the Survivor and TAR Fantasy games and keep up with each other in any of the off-topic fun discussions that you can enjoy all year long.
