Morning all. Holy cow. This house delivers.

I was looking forward to Austin going because of the drama and because I find him a little creepy, but they are right they can't get rid of one of their numbers. Look what happened in season 6 when Howie ended up getting rid of one of his alliance. I am afraid that there will be some fall out for Vanessa though.

Morning geo and all who follow,

A massively entertaining night of feeds, with major drama all week. The key shift, which drove the rest of the night, was Shelli worried that Clay was a secret target, which he was not. That has put her firmly in the Silent Six, and therefore needs Austin to stay in the house. She now wants to bring Meg and Jason in, who have named themselves the Goblins, to form a short term team with Shelli, Clay and Vanessa. The plan is to make sure they keep the twins until jury, as two votes for them (meaning her). Shelli is driving this train now, and Vanessa risks damaging her game, to put Shelli in a better spot.

The interesting thing to note is that the whole paranoia premise is based on false perception. The competitive threats of the far side of Dark Moon (those players on the opposite side of Silent Six) Jackie and Becky, buy into the ride to Final 8, and with the house only at F12 after eviction this Thursday, they have a lot of chances to take the house further down. And Austin, is a risk. He has betrayed Vanessa multiple times in game, and this near death experience is still unlikely to change that behavior.

If this plan goes through, a line will be drawn through the house, with Shelli/Clay maneuvering to not quite straddle it, leaving Vanessa clearly on the other side. Shelli wants to pull the Goblins over, and tell them we give you safety for next week, for not voting out Austin. But, she wants Vanessa to not put Austin up, thereby not being able to test the proposition. This is a good deal for Clay/Shell since they have wanted a f4 with Meg/Jason for awhile, and this finally gets them that. It is not a good deal for Vanessa, since she gets the blood, but not the reward.

Vanessa should instead, take some risk, and put Austin up, on the promise that Jason and Meg will flip the vote. Gamble on the SS competitive edge, to get at least one in the HoH slots, if the Goblins don't follow through on the vote. This plan makes them complicit in the house flip, and makes them responsible for Becky's departure. It also tests the goblins commitment, and bloodies up Shelli and Clay. She has kept her deal with Jackie, which I think Jackie will honor, and will reset her sights on Shelli, Clay, Austin and Liz. Thats what I would do. I don't think that is going happen.

Austin is probably not going up. The choice of who to evict, depends on who can be put up. In the likely scenario, I would nominate Jackie, and vote her out. That keeps her deal with Becky and Jmac, and so the betrayed player is out of the house pre jury, which minimizes the blood. It damages Vanessa's public face "I stick to my deals", but not with anyone important. Liz/Julia/Austin/Shelli/Clay/Steve will still be beholden to her, and Jason and Meg are low risks for winning. She needs to reaffirm her deal to Becky after the PoV ceremony, and work to establish some contact with Jmac.

Things to watch today, more scheming and plotting, Vanessa working to pull Liz closer, so she has the twins firmly on her side with Steve (which gives her a pretty sweet 6 setup with either Shelli/Clay or one of Jason/Meg). I will not be surprised if this plan gets revisited 6 more times before Monday PoV.

Geo: That's the under statement of the year:

She told DM she is a person of integrity and honesty .... not putting up Austin makes her look shadier than a weeping willow on a sunny day.

She told Jackie she wanted to be her ride or die and if she now puts her up it looks beyond bad.

Vanessa is ONLY hurting herself. Yes Austin is "a number" for their side but he would just as easily throw all of them under the bus to save Liz next week if anyone outside SS wins HOH.

I find it so ironic that Shelli & Vanessa talk about how "wishy washy" the other side of the house is when the reality is THEY are the wishy washy ones. I thought maybe, just maybe Vanessa would see when Liz pointed out Clay/Shelly will only take care of themselves and she thought other than Vanessa Clay had the best shot of winning it would register with Vanessa.

In fairness Vanessa puts herself in these positions by talking too much and making too many promises. I can't even tell as of this moment whether she is going to go back on her word and not put up the 2 people she promised she would: being Steve or Austin, and furthermore go back on her making the statement to Jackie "we promise we won't back door each other, because that's the lowest of the low" and then put up Jackie.

If she does that she will be Jason, James, Meg and whoever stays out of Jackie/Becky's number one target. Over the twins, over Austin, over everyone. Even JMac won't be impressed she promised Becky she wouldn't be in harms way if she volunteered.

The only way Vanessa saves any face is if she puts up Austin and then gets Shelli/Clay/Steve/Liz to find 2 votes to save him. I can't think of any other way she leaves this HOH with any semblance of respect from the rest of the house.

PLUS let's not forget Julia is going to be ticked off if they don't put up Austin now after what he said about her!

As for Miss Entitlement... it was interesting how angry she got at Clay for not being involved in the convo's up in HOH. THAT is the REAL SHELLI. Trust me the minute she goes on the block her face will be so twisted they'll be able to pour lemonade from her lips.

Liz is very odd telling people different stories:

To Austin she plays along leading him on
To Vanessa: she says she's not interested in him, is disgusted b/c she told him she didn't want to kiss him and how dare he target her sister
          To Shelli/Clay she calls her sister's a c--k block

I mean who's side is she really on?

As for JMac I was SHOCKED he told Becky his two targets are James/Meg that completely baffled me. I guess he believes his deal with Shlay stands above the 20 other deals they've made in the house.

Up until last night I kind of didn't mind Steve, but I found his conversation with Vanessa so off putting. I know it's just his tendencies/mannerisms but if he said "can I tell you something" once more I was going to start sticking sharp objects in my ears.

All I can hope is that Vanessa recognizes Shelli/Clay ONCE AGAIN are making her do the major dirty work & are doing nothing to not make her look bad, just like her last HOH. Last week Vanessa worked in concert with Shelli so people wouldn't hold the Audrey vote against her b/c she was going against her word/friendship with Audrey.

Watch for Vanessa to be pissed when Shlay deflect saying they had nothing to do with her decision (assuming she puts Jackie on the block). The only good thing about that is maybe Vanessa will finally recognize who Shelli really is!

I'm so annoyed ... every time I think strategic Vanessa has returned she goes loopy taking indelible magic marker to paint her own target on herself and just as I think Jason or JMac will find mutual ground to find each other (and work together) they get pulled further apart. I wish Shelli didn't irritate me to my core (she just does) and the more she gets what she wants the more I can't stand her..... why or why can't I have nice things? lol

Think your main thought line is exactly mine. The razor Steve articulated, If Austin won HoH would he nominate you. If Becky won HoH would she nominate you, is exactly the right analysis, but... in this case, based on what we know, and what Vanessa doesn't, is that is a wash. Neither Jackie or Becky would nominate her. And, she knows they're jump off point (F8), which gives her 4 more cycles to get one or both out. So, for me, put Austin up, make the Goblins commit, and run from there.

Hi'ya TTOTambz2! Not me - I can see right through Shelli just as you do. At times, I just can't put my finger on it (what I don't like), and other times, I know exactly why I think she's one big fake in this game. She is sneaky & very smart - to sum it up, Shelli is actually very good at this game - Her downfall will be her weaknesses when it comes to Clay. JMO.

          • #7
Oh yeah... one more observation. Shelli pushed Vanessa on keeping Austin based on this premise "the others" weren't happy Clay won POV so obviously they were targeting Shlay (as per Ken).

BUT Shelli then says she wants to cement a F5 with Meg/Jason & Nessa.

Soooooooooo Given the whole reason to keep Austin is b/c Shelli was worried they were being targeted..... shouldn't Vanessa be buckled over in pain from the truck with the flashing lights and beeping reverse sounds that just backed over her be in a WAIT A MINUTE AHA MOMENT?

Can't this very strategic person see how odd it is that Shelli said "the others" (who let's face it really means the group led by Jason) were definitely untrustworthy, wishy washy & would definitely target them an hour prior are the same people she wants to take to F5 with Nessa????

I mean.... I just can't (ARGH) I love Jason so I want to see him remain safe and would prefer ANY deal that finds him working with the more strategic (Vanessa, Steve) or likeable (JMac) or competitive (Jackie, twins) players works for me, but any deal that ties him to Miss Entitlement makes me nauseous.

But TT, Vanessa is not planning to enter the short game with those 5. She is clearly working to make the twins her real team, along with Steve, and hope/scheme to get one of the twins cut loose early in Jury. But, I agree, time is starting to run out to dirty up Shelli and Clay, so that someone takes the shot, and gets Clay out. As long as Vanessa has no fingerprints on that, Shelli falls to her, along with the twins and Steve. I think that is the final 5 she wants. I just am not sure she has the skill to pull that off. Derrick worked for 12 weeks moving Victoria into the F3, inch by inch. I don't see that level of people skill in Vanessa.

Yeah I get who Vanessa really wants in F5... My point is why Vanessa doesn't see through Shelli is just about Shelli. Miss entitlement convinced Nessa to keep Austin b/c Meg & Jason can't be trusted were gunning for Shlay and then wants a F5 with them 5 minutes after Nessa agrees not to take out Austin. She also told Austin NOT to fight with Jason b/c Jason/Meg are who Clay & Shelli really want to work with.

And when Vanessa said to Shelli but I promised Becky she was safe Shelli's response was "So sh-t changes!"

I just can't understand how Nessa is missing the fact Shelli made such a big deal about not being viewed badly last week with a target EVERYONE wanted gone but she has zero empathy for the situation Vanessa will be in with the house if she doesn't put Austin up (or Steve) and worse targets either Jackie or Becky.

Remembering how annoyed Nessa got when Austin/Shlay deflected the whole Jeff situation does it make sense to you she seems to be missing this is now a pattern specifically with Shelli?

i.e. help the house to view me as honest/caring but screw you "sh-t happens" when you are in power?

          • #8
I agree Ken and TTOT. This hurts Vanessa 100% more than the rest of the SS. She knows this. She believes that her word is her word. I think she also knows that if she doesn't put Austin up it makes her look even worse because of the Jeff situation. Jeff lied so I have to put him out becomes null and void to the other house guests. Especially since they all know that Austin has lied directly to her face on more than one occasion. Vanessa sees that Liz wants Austin because he has Liz's back over anyone. Clay and Shelli wants to keep Austin to protect Clay. Where does that leave her? She is the one that will be the direct target.

Shelli gets on my last nerve. Her and her lil boy toy. I have always thought that inside she was really a mean girl. How dare anyone be upset that Clay won the POV. How dare Becky be upset because she didn't win it. How dare her lil boy be put in a position of danger. She expects them all to follow her and Clay to the finale 2 and love it. Every one needs to give the game to them and if they don't she's ready for a public hanging. Just as long as her and Clay can throw all the blame on someone else.

Austin is trying to sell a used car to Vanessa. I have a feeling it's going to be a lemon.

I would like for a twin switch today. I am so curious to hear Julia's prospective on Austin on the block. I bet Vanessa does too.

            Happy Sunday Y'all.

Expect the unexpected. I think the producers would like to get Julia's take on this for pure drama purposes. We know that Julia does not see the game as Liz does. Liz see 2 people that will protect her, Austin and Julia. Julia see 2 people that will protect her, Liz and Vanessa. Julia sees Austin's direct attack at her as a danger for both Liz and herself. Liz does not.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday and last night was great BB. Will she put Austin up or will she break her word. I have flipped and flopped over this (I feel like I am Vanessa) I have always thought it was best to have the numbers and thought she should not put him up. I also think that if she does not put him up now, she will be the number one target. I see that Shelli/Clay has everyone looking out for them. but does Vanessa see this. Reading the things I missed, maybe she does. IF she lets Clay/Shelli try to save him, it throws the "shade" on them. She sounded like she was going to put him up when she talked to Jackie.

Becky was giving Steve some good advice early this morning, but I do not think he has the skills to use them. At least she was talking to him along with Jason

Was surprised to read that Johhny would put up Meg/Jason in the DE if he won. I did not see that coming. I think he may be a very loyal person and when he made the deal with Shelli/Clay he forgot all other deals.

So here I am flipping and flopping all over the place this morning.

They are all screwing up their own game by pandering to Austin's plea. He's a liar and they should have stuck with the plan to nominate him and get rid of him. If Vanessa has such strong standards about liars, she has just completely blown up her game by now ignoring his lies and not nominate him as the replacement. I hope it COMPLETELY blows up in their faces (especially Vanessa's). I had to turn off the feeds and couldn't watch BBAD last night. He's a creep and turns my stomach. What a bunch of fools!

            • #11
I am not emotionally invested in any of them at this point. I see Vanessa's game for what it is, I hate liars, and punish them. I make deals, and keep my end. She lies all the time, and is willing to break deals all the time, which in the real world is being a hypocrite, but in BB, she is deploying a game face. It is up to the others to figure out what is behind that. Shelli is miss sweet sunshine, but is total Queen Bee bitch, behind the scenes. This crop of players is fun, because nothing is moving in a straight line.

I am rewatching Jackie/Vannessa talk from last night. The key disconnect, is Jackie does not want to zig zag down the road, with Vanessa. Vanessa multiple times, lets pull the twins in, and Jackie would not go for it, even for a second. Vanessa can't let DM run long, because Shlay/Jackie/Becky/James/Meg/Jason totally puts her at or near the bottom. Without a lot more trust from Jackie, and some flexibility shown on Jackie's part, she is not a good fit for Vanessa. That is why Austin looks like a safer path.

True, but Vanessa whole outward persona of despising liars & sticking to her word is what she was planning on using as her argument to win at the end. If she does this now she can't use that argument any longer.

Shelli reminds me of Derrick. And she's doing it without the benefit of being trained in undercover work and mind games.

If you didn't fault Derrick for being entitled and for putting people on the hit list for not immediately capitulating to his manipulation and being happy to help him get money for his daughter, can't fault Shelli for putting people on a hitlist for not being happy that Shelli's man is safe.

I didn't like Derrick and I don't like Shelli but because people said so often that we had to give Derrick his due, well, gotta give Shelli her due.

Yeah, she'll probably freak if she's ever on the block but Derrick wouldn't have been such a cool customer either if he had ever had to face that.

I made the exact same point over a week ago. Remember when there was talk to put Derrick up as a pawn early in the game and he lost it? He got extremely aggressive and angry. To reiterate I said I expect Shelli to be exactly the same. I've also repeatedly said Shelli should be the number 1 target of the house & the couple (not Clay).

Yeah, I was pretty sure I remembered that. He had several ugly moments. Victoria got to #3 by tamping down all misgivings as soon as Derrick cued her in that she might be moving into threatening territory ... and it took very little motion from her for Derrick to send that repulsive, controlling message.

I wasn't a fan of Derrick's last year. I was on the fence with Shelli until this week and just don't like her above everyone else attitude and to me, her overreaction of how she thinks others are targeting Clay, and it isn't even so. Last night talking to Austin, you would think that she was HOH and I wish Vanessa could have heard her speaking to him.

            • #13
I keep forgetting that what I want to happen is not what HG's always do. I would love to see an alliance with JMac, Jason, Becky, and Jackie but know that is not going to be. I want Austin out this cycle but now unlikely. While not such a fan of Shellie, I can see how she wants to get someone out that is a real or perceived threat. What I don't understand is Vanessa getting caught up in Shellie's paranoia. Vanessa told Shellie what Austin said about a group wanting Clay out as an afterthought not as a game changer. The decision to target someone else is a lose lose for Vanessa with the only benefit of maintaining numbers. As we know luck is a big part of this game. It will take only two back to back wins from the others to reduce her numbers. Austin will betray again. I am not convinced that Liz is as loyal to Vanessa as she thinks. I can't imagine anyone else volunteering as a pawn to throw BoB, a strategy that has worked to the SS benefit. Steve seems to be the only one completely loyal to Vanessa but he has no influence in the house. If Vanessa does not put Austin on the block, I believe this is her "jump the shark" moment.

It is not really lose-lose in my read of the board. First, for me, nothing is actually binary in this game, so decisions are never really that clear cut. 2nd, Vannessa is one of the few looking at what is happening down the road, and realizing that due to House dynamics, this boot becomes very important for the mid game set up. What she can't allow, is Jackie's path of get DM to F8. Jackie has not backed off that an inch. Vanessa cannot allow herself to have Jason, Meg, Jackie, Becky, James as a final 8. Clay or Shelli would be cut, and she would be next. That makes no sense for her game at all. The fact that Jackie is not sensitive to that, and make allowances for it, does not bode well for a real partnership.

Contrast that with Liz. When asked, are you tied to Clay/Shelli she says "only through you". That is important for Vanessa to feel confident that she will not enter the short game alone. And I don't share the opinion that Julia will feel betrayed by Vanessa. Julia is going to ride with her sister. I don't forget that the first person in the house that knew for a fact that the twins were real, and who they were, was Vanessa. Her reaction was to scoop them up, create an alliance around them to protect them, and Julia won't forget that. With Shlay wanting Austin in now, Vanessa is not going to be the number one target. And with luck, if she is on the block, she goes up with Liz, or Austin. At that point the house will keep her.

WHY???? Why can't they just stick with the plan. Austin is a creeper and Liz will never be able to really play the game until he is gone. I am excited about the twins entering this week. I feel they will be on separate sides of the house. It should be interesting. I would rather Steve go since they are mean to him than Jackie. (at least Jackie is somewhat playing too).

Vanessa should instead, take some risk, and put Austin up, on the promise that Jason and Meg will flip the vote.
But, I agree, time is starting to run out to dirty up Shelli and Clay,
I see where Vanessa could use these in her game if it were changed around a little bit. Put Austin up(what the house wants and keep deals with the "other side"), And put it on Shelli and Clay to flip the votes for him to stay. That will dirty up Clay and Shelli and keep Vanessa in good graces with everyone else.
That is a happy place for her and all the crap falls at the others feet.

Oh yea he is gone if he's on the block. But if Vanessa puts it on Clay and Shelli try to flip the votes to keep him it dirties their game not Vanessa's game.

Kpercyman: See that's why I think Vanessa should put him up. The house will expect him to bad mouth Vanessa & she already said she was aligned with him prior to his lies, so it doesn't hurt her as much as not putting him up will. But NO ONE knows Shelli/Clay were aligned with him the twins & Vanessa all this time. So when he blows up he'll out Shelli/Clay for their multiple alliances. It's the best way for Vanessa to keep her word & also put more of a spot light on Shelli/Clay. Once JMac/Jackie/Jason/Meg/James hears about their multiple deals it will put into question whether Shlay could be trusted.

I just wish someone would tell Austin that Liz is creeped out by him & he's looking worse than Caleb, b/c unlike Amber, Liz is punking him like Boogey did Erika! (not that I like him, it's just really creepy so if he knew maybe he'd stop mauling her).
