    New HoH.

Vanessa's manic play may get her moving right out the door. I cannot wait to see how this will play out. The plan as I understand it is to nominate Steve and Shelli and if anyone but Vanessa wins the veto, Vanessa goes up and out.

Good morning everyone! Hi Geo! I agree with you about Vanessa, I don't know what the heck she's thinking - if she's thinking clearly at all!

Good morning all- So it looks like Vanessa is walking out the door this Thursday. I knew Becky wanted to work with Shelli. I knew Shelli would never work hard to save Vanessa. Vanessa is my favorite but she brought this on herself. She just never could stop and relax. In this game of BB, you have to hang back for most of the game and not make a move until after jury. That is why so many talk about just making it to jury. I like Johnny but do not think he is a great player. From what I read, he wants a F4 with Becky, Jackie and Steve. I do not know how that will work because Becky wants Shelli. This should be another good week.

Vanessa can always win PoV, so don't give up yet!

And Purr said Shelli hurt Becky's feelings, so I'm not sure Becky would choose Shelli in an alliance over her desire for one with JMac and Jackie. We won't know for sure until we see several more conversations.

Becky told JMac in a recent discussion she liked ADC better citing them all being more upfront, James being calm (a big trait she always looks for in players) and loves Jackie b/c she's upfront & loyal. Plus she learned about all the side deals Shelli had & got the snappy treatment from Shelli when she was on the block with Clay so she now sees her true colors.

Morning, geo, Kittyboo, Luanne and everyone!

"Every morning, every evening...ain't we got fun?" What a treat of a BB season, even without me having anyone to cheer for except JMac. Becky's not my favorite, but she has an alliance with JMac, so she gets a pass from me. And gracious, she beasted that comp. You go, girl.

At first I couldn't figure out why she was backdooring Vanessa instead of straight up nomming her, but then when she said she was pretending to follow the "plan,"I remembered....oh yeah, they had that deal where they put up Shelli as the pawn and got out a floater instead. So this way, Becky appears to be sticking with the 8 by sticking with the plan, makes no enemies with the 8 in the deal, covers her bases with those not in the plan, and then gets out Vanessa while making very few enemies.

Nice work, Becky, if it works. If it doesn't work, at least you're entertaining us. Go JMac.

Morning geo, and all who follow,

A sad day in KeninVAville, as the worst possible winner of the potentials won HoH last night. It is not over for my manic plucky heroine, but she is playing against the odds now, and has about a 70 percent chance of leaving next thursday.

It seems clear to me, Austin betrayed her yet again last night, losing badly in a comp tailor made for him to win. My evidence he threw it:

        1. He is extremely limber. I watched he and the twins and Becky during the yoga session he led. He was the most flexible of the group. He is a fitness instructor now.

        2. Despite his complaints about cardio, and his wrestling pratt falls, his 6 inch stride advantage should have allowed him to dominate the challenge.

        3. And the clinching evidence for me, was his constant talking, laughing, and kidding around during the challenge. Someone who wants to win, is not joking around, they are focusing on getting the job done.

With Becky 5K richer, and never sleeping in a dentist chair again, except during a tooth extraction, her plan is keep the "previous plan" Nom Shelli, and a floater Steve, instead of JMac, and then backdoor Vanessa. It has great odds of success but there are some holes.

Vanessa, Austin or a twin can be picked to play, and then win PoV. Her next best chance is for James to be picked for PoV and win it. If Vaustwin win the PoV, freeze the board, and let Shelli go, by voting to keep Steve in the game. They lose a shield, but gain a better comp threat in these later stages of the game, and Steve/Vanessa are still an unknown duo, who can continue on the current run.

If James wins PoV, he could freeze the board, getting a deal from Vanessa, that he might be interested in. It is also to his advantage, since leaving Shelli in the game makes him vulnerable to a Shelli HoH. And, James believes in the power of Vanessa's deals. He actually understands what she is doing, and has even defended her to Jackie, pointing out, Vanessa's deal kept her in the game, when Jason went home. If James can't freeze the noms, Vanessa might be able to convince him to make a deal to save Steve, and to vote Shelli out in his own defense.

Her next best bet is for Jmac to win, who right now, I assume would pull Steve down. Vanessa still makes a deal with James, to secure his vote, and then lines her minions up, to vote out Shelli, pointing to the funeral pyre she threw herself on yesterday afternoon, creating the conditions that allowed them to vote out Clay in accordance with James late afternoon wish.

The question will be, if Becky, Jackie or Meg win PoV, do they pull Shelli down, and put Vanessa in her place? If that happens on Monday afternoon, Vanessa's game is done, and the show will lose a lot of interest for me. Off for today, will probably peak in later to see PoV picks.

You've been pulling for a James/Vanessa partnership for awhile now. It could happen. James doesn't seem to hold grudges, and he has come across as very fair in his thinking. But he'd have to turn on his group that he's been pretty loyal to, so I'm not sure it would happen. Maybe being America's Player will force him to be with Vanessa!

Oh...one more thing, Ken. Austin gave all sorts of hints that he would throw this comp in his conversation with the twins and Vanessa in the Have Not room (I think Wednesday?) He said they had played this week so well that they didn't really need to win it, so he would wait and if Meg and Jackie were out, he'd throw it. Then he added he'd wait until Becky was out, too. Obviously, he didn't wait until anyone was out....I think he just felt safe. Silly, silly, silly. He might be safe, maybe, but he's losing his alliance one by one with his decisions.

This is the strangest cast ever put together by Big Brother. There is absolutely no hero for us to all get behind. Johnny Mac is my favorite but only because he has a sarcastic streak that I love. It's more about the way he rolls his eyes than what he says, I tend to fill in the blanks. lol

I really do think Vanessa has a little crush on Shelli. I don't care except that I think it has affected her game. Both hers. Shelli is not above using said little crush against Vanessa either. She'll use Vanessa as a meat shield just like she did Clay. And she won't blink twice or shed a real tear.

I don't know what Becky will do. I'm hoping Jackie, James and Meg along with J-Mac can influence and convince her to put up Shelli and Vanessa instead of Steve. Though I'm so not a Steve fan.

I really really REALLY would love to see Vanessa's butt headed out the door this week. That would make me happy.

And for a strange cast, they have delivered in spades. We are six weeks in, and the drama 4 days out of seven has been off the charts. A mix of hardcore game, ridiculous comic relief (hello, meerkats), and fights, crying, breakdowns. We don't need an all stars, just bring this cast back with some tweeks.

That makes the most sense, Ken. I do think Steve has a slight preference for JMac over Vanessa (as he said to JMac, would you want to be at the end with Vanessa?), but why choose until he is forced.

You make a good point NoNo... I say he leans towards JMac for a couple reasons. He's always been the one that pursued that relationship & now JMac is shoring it up with Clay leaving, he doesn't out info to Vanessa from JMac (or hasn't been especially lately) and he tends to be more interactive with Steve which he's drawn to, hence your point "Would you want to be with Vanessa at the end". Vanessa asks him stuff, but not as consistently & more often than not talks to him when she either needs something or is frantic.
Plus now JMac is very forthright in game talk with him which Steve has been thirsting for. I noticed it with his interactions with James b/c he kept him in the loop & was honest with him.

JMac said the magic words to him yesterday ... I want to be more game active now & STOP LETTING OTHER PEOPLE PLAY MY GAME FOR ME.

To Ken's point I could see Steve working with James & Vanessa I just think it's more likely that Vanessa leaves & Steve replaces her with James while continuing with Becky, Jackie & JMac (hence why I think it'll be that 5 working together)

      • #8
One of the biggest changes to come out of SS losing a member and Vanessa's poor play: Becky doesn't have to depend on anyone she doesn't trust for their vote. If Vanessa is on the block, she has James/Jackie/Meg/JMac to cause a tie, and then Becky sends her home. So the flippiest twins can flip over and over about their vote and it won't matter this week.

It doesn't appear that the ADC are making a huge effort to get Becky to put up Shelli with Vanessa, and I'm surprised by that. Evidently they think it's more important to appear to stick to the agreed "plan" which gives them more cover with the others.

It's going to be VERY interesting to hear some conversations today. How much is Shelli going to tell Vanessa? I already like Shelli better now that Clay is gone...it's the strangest thing. And maybe being out of power will take more of the smugness away and I can actually pull for her at some point. (But not yet).

If we're successful in getting rid of one more SS member, I'm a happy camper again this week.

I didn't vote, but remember last week they asked America to tweet videos saying who their favorites were? James had a great week, so maybe he got the most tweets and they used that as their vote. And I wonder if that DR leak was on purpose so feedsters would get excited and spread the word. Quite coincidental timing for a leak if it wasn't planned.

Good Morning Geo, Ken, NoNo, Linden and All

So I'm sure Ken will have mixed emotions this morning as do I. (and I see he has posted as I'm writing this so I'm anxious to see what he has to say).

The slip & slide was made for Becky and like we thought in the end she literally dominated the competition. JMac, Becky and a surprising Julia also all performed well, but it was Becky who picked up yet another $5k, an all season slop pass and the highly coveted HOH. That second $5k will draw a big target on her back not to mention how well she performed so if SS wins DE next week don't be surprised if she becomes a back door option.

I'll be interested to get Ken's take on Vanessa, but she really has had a couple of manic days with odd choices. Suffice to say I warned this would happen watching her in the last 48 hours & I'm still not sure what her motivation was. Perhaps the game is getting to her or maybe there is a method to her madness, but it sure was a situation that got out of hand with poor decision making & bad adaptation to circumstances she created. Listening to her tell Jackie last night that the fight shifted the votes made me wonder if she truly believed that but Meg & Jackie set her straight as Clay's departure was already set in stone prior to the fight.

So Becky is opting to nominate Steve & Shelli with the goal of back dooring Vanessa. Oddly she chose to tell Shelli the plan asking her not to tell Vanessa which may be a really bad move. If Vanessa doesn't get selected to play POV or does but loses it she will likely leave next unless she has some major tricks up her sleeve. But news a juror will likely return points to TPTB making sure they create a tailor made comp for Vanessa. At this point a couple weeks out of the house might be exactly the break her mind needs.

Steve has continued his ascent up the ladder and while he'll end up on the block today he actually might be the safest player in the house since he's liked by the twins is improving his relationships with all the ADC and is in Freaks & Geeks. A sign he isn't committed to Vanessa, but has always wanted to work with JMac is he isn't sharing info with Vanessa at all.

JMac lost his coveted 1A with Clay leaving and discovered the group he had hoped to work with (Shlay/Becky) wasn't working for him as Shlay had not only made several other deals, but also weren't sharing vital information with him. When he learned Clay was immediately passing along info he gave him to Vanessa and not sharing that he was in danger couldn't have felt good. So, now JMac has re-implemented his deal to work with Steve and with Becky in power he knows he's 100% safe this week.

He very accurately described the game Vanessa is playing and said he's tired of other people playing his game so will be more proactive moving forward. He'll take his safety this week to continue building relationships with people like Austin, James and rekindle a relationship with Jackie. He told Steve his goal is make a F4 with Becky, Jackie & Steve which tickles me b/c I want Jackie in the house. As I mentioned last night if I had my druthers I'd like a F6 of Jackie, James, Julia, JMac, Steve and Becky with an outside chance of Vanessa back in the mix if she can stop the overt conspiracy theories.

Again I'll look to Ken, but why she would ever say to Shelli that she believed Clay and JMac were related or LOVERS???? (wow) was really an odd choice. Vanessa went from being protected on every side to being the top target of 5 half the house in 2 days!

As for Clay he acted like a woman scorned with his petty attempt to frame James with a lie followed by his very low class shot at Meg in his Julie interview. I never thought he was overly intelligent & I've seen his smug and entitled side, but he really came across bad last night by how he acted. His entire goodbye speech felt forced and untrue especially when Julie asked if it was love and he hedged and said that was a big word. THAT said everything in my book. If you aren't sure you're in love but are willing to throw away a 1 in 12 shot at $500k then this was never about the money. Honestly I had a better feeling about Amanda and McCrae (which I didn't think would last) then I did about this. I think Clay came on the show looking for exposure to build some sort of career in entertainment and because he's vain he believed their Golden Sibling relationship is being viewed as the perfect American guy & gal on the show & thought he'd look even more amazing by falling on his sword for her. Once he learns he's second from the bottom in the polls perhaps he'll rethink his choices. Bottom line on him, I hope someone puts him firmly in his place for what sounded like him calling Meg loose on National TV. It was the one time the audience voiced their displeasure and it was uncouth and ignorant of him. (wish I could be a fly on the wall when he first sees footage of him pulling Meg TO him and pawing at her more aggressively then he ever did Shelli. My personal opinion is he's a momma's boy looking for fame whether it be acting or another reality show. I'll laugh if TAR recruits from BB17 b/c I'll expect it to be Da'Vonne & Jason or the twins who are selected well before this odd couple.

Becky likes calm people and it still feels like she wants to continue to work with Shelli which doesn't please me, as I'd rather she left than Vanessa but I'll take one of them leaving and if ADC TrainMac win DE look for the other to be targeted. Conversely a SS win will likely feature one of Becky, James or Jackie being targeted depending on who wields the power.

Yesterday's nonsense actually helped James as he dealt with Vanessa's accusations swiftly and deftly. By the end of the melee he'd cleared his name, shown himself to be someone who won't play into gossip and used the opportunity clear up the bully accusation Vanessa had made. When she back peddled it allowed yet another reason for Shelli to question comments she's made.

Heading into nominations today it will be Steve & Shelli who've been instructed to act surprised, scared and angry. Interestingly the 2 nominees are probably Vanessa's 2 closest allies so let's see if either shares any information with Vanessa, the true target.

They've both been told to gun for POV and I'm hoping Steve wins it so we get the much anticipated Shelli versus Vanessa war. Problem is Vanessa has pulled so much nonsense and suspected by 5 players as being so shady that I'll be truly impressed if she can get Shelli voted out over her should they end up facing one another.

Some may predict Austin or the twins if pulled to play in Veto would leave nominations the same, but I think everyone is so tired of Vanessa's actions they can't be entirely sure she won't pull something on them given Clay/Shelli were her closest allies. Plus Becky has the ace in the hole .... she can tell Austin it was entirely Vanessa plan to back door him 2 weeks ago prior to shifting to take out Austin. She'll need to get him to throw the POV or promise to use it should he win prior to POV.

A perfect draw for POV (for Becky) would be any of the ADC or JMac and a perfect draw for Vanessa would be herself, Meg and one of Austin or the twins. The dicey part for Vanessa will be if she chooses to take down one of the nominees since she has F2's with both and leaving them both on the block also hurts her relationship them. I have a feeling the twins might actually prefer to keep Steve in the house and he's also been bonding with James who'll definitely want to keep more men in the house. In fact I'd be interested to see if James won who he would chose to pull down: Shelli to amend their broken relationship or Steve to garner favor? I'm thinking Steve as that would force the Vanessa vs. Shelli showdown.

Odds are everyone who knows they are safe in SS (Austin, twins) throws it and any of Jackie, Becky, James or JMac gun to win it to ensure Vanessa goes up.

Okay, time to get some NBA writing accomplished. Have a great day all.

                NoNo,

Solid point. But I doubt she says anything b/c there's a chance if Vanessa plays then she won't take Shelli down or tries too hard to win POV. Pretty safe to assume she'll stay mum at least until players are pulled for POV and more likely until after POV is played.

TTOTambz2 Becky has said that she is going to give part of her first $5K to James since he gave up money and a trip to win veto.
As for Vanessa, I think she had a strange 48 hours but she admitted to starting her period so that might have played into her emotional swings. However, Vanessa already knew prior to her talk with Jackie and Meg that “the fight” did not lead to his ouster since when she was in the room with Austin prior to the vote, he told her that everyone (including those two) were on board to vote Clay out. She was trying to take credit.
