Morning all. So they've woken up to Vanessa's game again. Why is it they always do that at times they can't do anything about it. Not sure that any of them will put her up though.

Sounds like this coming Thursday's HOH will be the shoot-out at the OK Corral. Steve knows he's vulnerable. Vanessa is already planting the seeds by going back to what she says DaVonne said about him being a mole (talk about ancient history). Even if he's not an initial nom, he has to know how essential the VOP win is now. Vanessa is the other talked about target so we know she'll be battling, but using more of her mind games. She may save her ammo for the next HOH in final four - that's the best HOH to win. But without POV win she could also be vulnerable.

But, who woulda thunk that Johnny Mac would be in such a good spot? But this season has gone against all normal logic. And I'm glad there's no Derrick steamroller going through. Love that there's a route for anyone but Julia to win.

Can you imagine living with someone who keeps a catalog of stuff like that to go back and use against you when she can't come up with anything current to explain her pique?

Remember how thrilled she was to get the letter from her girlfriend and commented, 'Oh she still loves me.' Mus not be much of a solid relationship if she questions it by just being away for a couple months. She would wear me out as a person.

Watching BBAD last night, Austwins discussing who should leave. Boy they are in for a rude awakening when they get out of the house. Austin feels the viewers would be really upset if Liz leaves this week! ack!! he also said they have a good chance of being America's Favourite. 😱 Austin seems to think he's been pretty entertaining ! And the viewers would like that. Maybe they will win a surprise cash bonus so they can all get counselling once back home.

Morning geo, Betty, and all who follow,

The twins cry, Austin/Liz/Julia start to wake up, and Steve does not see the mortal danger he is in.

The twins are finally, after six evictions, both on the block, and one will go home. It was a remarkable run for bonded siblings to make. John and Vanessa talked day before yesterday about taking out Liz, but there talk was interrupted by Austin, and I expect, since they were first in bed last night, that a conversation this morning will tell a lot about what they are thinking.

Austin/Julia/Liz start to realize Vanessa might have a deal with Steve and Jmac. They don't know for sure, but for Vanessa, her spot gives her protection, since they can't get rid of her, until they get rid of Steve or Jmac, the other obvious pair.

Steve in the hammock, reveals to us, he really wants Vanessa/Steve/Jmac Final 3. He also reinforces, for me, that he is not a very imaginative strategist. My first clue was that he did not actually plan to put Austin up vs. Liz. John and Vanessa had to convince him that was the best move. In the hammock last night, he said it is a low probability that he could end up on the block against Austin. That is the farthest from the truth. Jmac is unlikely to put Vanessa up, at the risk of her booting him in the next round, if she does not go home. Vanessa can win the PoV, and will pull either Austin or Julia (assuming Liz is the boot), off the block, forcing John to put Steve up. The reason these scenario's are pretty high probability outcomes, is that in a John HoH, 2 people will keep noms the same, but 3 people will be working to change them. And Vanessa will be trying very hard for that PoV, and she is due another one that will match her skills.

All the real game action this week, besides positioning, between Steve, Austin, and Vanessa is going to be in any talks Jmac and Vanessa have, since they will be controlling the vote.

The rest of the feeds will be consumed with Liz/Austin farewell tour, such as it is.

One observation: They have become so superstitious, that no one will sleep in Meg's bed, since it has become the bed of game death.

Good morning all. It is really hard without my computer. I am using a borrowed IPad. Can not watch feeds and post about the feeds. I miss all of you.

My favorite is still in the game. I really thought she was gone a couple ok weeks ago. Not sure if she can win or not, but I sure hope so. I know not many like her, but I think she is a kind person. I have not heard her say anything bad about any one. I think she sees the good in every one. I think she was sincere in trying to smooth things over between AUstin and LIz. It does not help her game at all.

My hope for final three is VAnessa, Steve, and Johnny. Final two VAnessa and either one of the boys.

The night James left, Vanessa commented how she was glad he's gone since they didn't have to pretend to be nice any more. But, I will say her comments about people were game, not personal. But she's not afraid to paint them as shady or sketchy, even when they haven't done what they're accused of. It's all business with Vanessa, she's not there to make friends.

Hence, perhaps the concern Mel falling out of love with her. Perhaps the house Van is the real intense Van and Mel may be glad she is watching instead of living it for a few months. Does that make sense?

If I'm in Vanessa's head, I would have to guess her ideal F3 is herself, Johnny and Julia. I think she throws HOH this week. If Austin wins, she will point him to target Steve. If JMac wins, she points him to Austin. She will gun for F4 HOH, and will work to get rid of either Steve or Austin, whoever is in it.

Behead I like your thinking, as I was a TBM fan. It would cover to fronts. Him being chicken to not voting Julia out when given the chance, and to revenge Liz's probable eviction.

Does anyone feel that not sleeping in Meg's bed is silly. It is not going to prevent one of them from going to jury.

Also, I have to say that JohnnyMac's horseshoe interview with Jeff, was one that I saw. I remember thinking, what a goofball, and I wanted to see what he was going to do. I guess I would be okay with a Vanessa, John and Julia final 3.

Come on Julia check things up, win HOH.

I think it will be more along the lines of a Silkwood Shower. I wouldn't be surprised if Julie refuses to shake his hand. What a disgrace. Thirty years old and he still hasn't mastered the fine art of toilet training. Such a nasty, nasty man.

The twins are both mean-girls. I said this in a post during the early weeks in the game and no one really agreed with me. But we have all seen them in their mean-girl ways on an hourly basis. For me, their constant use of foul language is also off-putting. Their parents must be proud. The houseguests need to vote Liz out on Thursday.

Austin is just a fool, all the way around. Liz is *not* going to be his future wife, as he stated last week. Austin's constant awareness of the cameras and playing to them to make "interesting T.V. " drives me crazy. The BB world does not revolve around him. Austin is an intelligent man and would have been far better off without attaching himself to Liz. For me, Austin is a walking contradiction.

JMac arrived too late, in my opinion. But at least we are finally seeing some game the past 2 weeks. He is very likable and has an excellent shot at winning this game.

Steve has overplayed the "lack of social awareness" card and is just very, very irritating to me. He is not a great strategist and often lacks awareness of what is going on around him. I think he fancies himself to be a "Dan" or an "Ian". He is neither.

Vanessa has been my favorite since the 1st day. She is a phenomenal strategist and game player and has never been mean or unkind to anyone. I think she tires people out with the verbalization of her strategy and her often repeated phrases, i.e., "do you understand", "and here's why". I have never understood the outright hatred some people have for Vanessa. Really, she's not Andy or SHE who shall not be named, or Ronnie, etc. She's an excellent, focused game player who has been playing hard since the first week. No one else in the game can match her skills.

My hope for F3 is Vanessa, Julia, and JMac. My hope for F2 is Vanessa and JMac. I hope Vanessa wins this game, but the jury is made up of people who will not acknowledge her skills.

I like 95% of that. ''Walking contradiction'' is a perfect two-word description of Austin. And I love your descriptions of JMac and Steve.

The problem with Vanessa is her holding herself up as a person with such great integrity when she has major issues in that department -- she is personally controlling yet out-of-control. She keeps a catalog of offenses to use against people -- when convenient. She makes up offenses to use against people if she can't find one when she needs one, while making up reasons to justify ignoring the obvious offenses that other people have actually committed as she pins something petty on her desired target. Any excuse will do when she needs to break her word. If it were just game, then that would be okay. But her need to sell herself as a person of integrity is beyond game and is annoying. As is stuff like her calling James ''venomous'' (for saying she was playing too hard) when she relayed her version of her meltdown to her partners in demonization.

But overall Vanessa does seem to be the goodhearted person she so desperately needs to believe herself to be.

And she is playing the game the best. I can't fault her at all for doing whatever it takes to win the game. She deserves to be the season winner as much as anyone ever deserves anything in BB.

I will continue to fault BB for putting a ringer in the game with all those amateurs. But at least BB gave me some fun players to watch this year. Much more fun this year than last. And a super interesting season.

Seriously? It's not like I minded at all, when she berated Austin, and made him grovel to not be a nominee for eviction, but I would not call that behavior 'kind' or 'not mean'. It was mean, and it was unkind.

This is not to say that I don't appreciate her skills -- but for what it's worth, manipulation skills are not the kind of skills that I value. I'm really hoping that the other four left after this week's eviction start talking to each other about V, and somehow she becomes a nom, since her over-confidence is indicating she just 'might' throw the HOH. Still dreaming of the day she walks out empty handed.

I _am_ resigned to Vanessa winning the season. It is pretty much hers to lose.

She _is_ a nice person, mostly. Nobody is perfect and she sure would be a frustrating friend. But I'm a frustrating friend too. And I'm probably a lot more like her than I want to admit.

It has been a good, fun, exciting, unpredictable season. I will keep hoping someone finds a way to get Vanessa out -- and I will continue to be upset at BB for casting ringers -- but she is far and away the best player and I guess BB has to find some good players for you strategy lovers and has to find some fun players for us mice-lovers. So maybe I shouldn't be so upset at BB after all.

Someone has got to win, and if the strategy-lovers were too frustrated well that wouldn't be cool either.

Good question. Vanessa doesn't know enough to try to Dan it up for us. And when Derrick tried to talk to us on the feeds, he lied to us. Like when he tried to tell us he was all in with the America's Team alliance and acted like we hadn't just watched him work to get Donny sent out. That kind of thing was insulting.

I don't know if Steve is trying to be fun ... but if he is, I guess he's showing how hard it is to find that magic. He doesn't have it.

            • #13
I am one who really hopes Vanessa does not win. She has played a very strategic game and on that alone I would have to agree she should win. However, that being said, I believe she played a sketchy conniving game and would stop at nothing to get ahead. I am tired of her saying that all she has is her integrity. If only she would admit she is playing that kind of game then I would feel better about her possibly (probably) winning. And I have to chuckle at Austin's delusions that America loves him and he makes "good" tv. All I can say is eeew. Do you think the houseguests after they leave BB, read all the thing different people have written about them? (Will Austin get a clue of how he has been percieved???)

Austin will convince himself that the hate coming his way is from Christians who don't like that he called himself Judas. Or because he was playing such a dominant game -- strategists like him and Derrick often get bad things said about them.

My understanding is they have a sort of debriefing prior to their back yard interviews so they know what people think of them and questions that may arise because of how they were perceived during the season. So if this is true he should find out pretty quickly what the majority of the people think of him.

Being that we're all just fat nerds reading the feeds? I think a lot of people like watching a train wreck as sad as it is. We were all giddy at the Liz / Austin fight the other day. Even Perez Hilton twittered finger gate and the response was they should have saved it for a porn show ... people watch for those moments. So bad press better than no press?

Hey everybody! I'm posting this while I'm thinking about it, mainly so I'll have something to go back to because I'm going to be wondering myself.
IF we follow last year's schedule (which looks likely), this is what we have ahead of us this next week:

              Thursday night: Eviction. F5 remain.

Monday morning (Sept 14): Feeds cut for taped eviction.

Tuesday (Sept 15): Taped eviction shown on special Tuesday night broadcast. F4 remain. Feeds return after West Coast show airs.
(We should find out the F4 PoV winner when feeds return.)

Wednesday (Sept 16): Eviction. F3 remain. Final HoH Part 1 Endurance should be seen on feeds after show ends.

Last year they had the PoV Ceremony on Sunday since they were holding a special eviction on Monday. I assume they do the same this year. That might translate into the actual PoV comp being played on Friday, but who knows.

Another post before I go back to working on the project that I am supposed to be working instead of typing this post....

I don't think there is only one way to win Big Brother, so I never can say who "deserves" to win. If you value strategy and manipulation, you might say one person deserves to win. But if you value social game, you might have a different pick for who deserves it. Some people think you need a lot of comp wins before you deserve it, but others (think Dr. Will) do not.

I think we've been conditioned to believe that the person who is the best strategist is the one who deserves to win. That's understandable because that's how we are trained to view the world. BUT TPTB have never stated that the winner is the best strategist...there are no points for one style of game over another.

If that excellent strategist gets to the end of the game, but he/she loses because their social game wasn't persuasive enough to make a juror overlook their bitterness (or whatever it is that is causing a juror to not give a vote), then the strategist doesn't deserve to win. Same thing with someone with excellent social skills except in reverse.

I really think it's all in the way we view it. I wouldn't necessarily think that Julia "deserves" to win, but if she somehow finds herself in that F2 and the jury votes for her because A. It's stacked in her favor (Austin/Liz)***** and/or B. The jurors dislike the person she's sitting next to, then more power to her. If Julia wins, then she deserves it THIS year because her game was the one that was honored by the jury in the end. IMO, Julia will deserve it if she wins. (I cannot believe I just typed that.)

*****Edited to explain my thought on the jury being stacked in Julia's favor: IF Julia gets to the end and wins because she has Austin and Liz as solid votes, then good for her. The others let the twins, first, come into the game and then second, stay in the game long enough for them to affect the jury make-up.

I totally agree, Nono. I have always thought if you won, you deserved it, no matter how you got there. Derrick deserved to win last year. ED (shudder) deserved to win. Jordan deserved to win. Whoever wins this year, deserves it, no matter how I feel about them or the way they played the game.

I think that the one thing I always forget is that anyone watching the live feeds or reading the updates all season long has a totally different view of the game and all that has transpired than those in the house. We definitely are privy to a lot more information than they are. They can only base their choice of the winner on what they have been part of, what they themselves have observed, what they have heard and been told (whether it is true or not). Personally, since my favorites have all been booted, I really don't care who wins now but have a slight preference for JMac simply because I don't like Austin, Liz, Julia, and Steve. I'd be okay with Vanessa winning but her non-stop psychological manipulation of strategic warfare has been exhausting to watch and listen to so I'd love to see her lose before F2. On the other hand, if she makes it that far, I can understand her deserving the win as the others allowed themselves to be influenced by the machinations of her ever-scheming mind, trusting her blindly to have their best interests at heart while she secretly was conniving enough to confuse them into thinking that her best interests were actually theirs.

nonobadfish I totally agree with your thinking. Whoever gets to the end and wins does deserve to win. We may not like who makes it that far but they must have done something right to get there. We all have favorites and people we don't like but you have to give credit where it is due to anyone who makes it to final 2 (or even final 3)
