Morning all. So Vanessa won the veto and Steve is kicking himself for letting her win. Darn, I wanted Liz to be evicted, but it looks like it will be John.

Why would he let her win? That was stupid. Hopefully she will send Liz to jury to be with Austin. Here's hoping. If not, I believe that James has no chance of getting FF.

Morning all!

We almost had my perfect JMac/Vanessa/Steve F3!!!!!! IF Steve hadn't forgotten to write the extra tie breaker zero, JMac would have been HoH. And IF JMac was HoH, then Steve wouldn't have thrown the PoV. Wait...that probably wouldn't have resulted in my desired F3 pick either, because they would have booted Vanessa. How did I think I was going to get JMac/Vanessa/Steve all in F3 again, KenInVA? I'm trying hard to come up with my logic of how I thought that would happen.

Alas and aleek, it doesn't matter now because Vanessa would be cray cray to keep JMac so I'm going to have to lose my very favorite. But the curse was broken and I got to watch him almost to the end, so there's no crying in the Nono house (unlike the BB house....have we EVER had so much crying? I don't think even Amber cried more than this group. Sheesh.)

As for why Steve threw the F4 POV: Last year, Derrick threw the F4 PoV to Cody so that he (Derrick) didn't have to get the blood of Caleb on his hands. I think Steve was trying to be Derrick without realizing that he wasn't in the same position.

I do think the blindside of Austin last night was my favorite moment of BB17, so I'm happy dancing all the way to work. Wasn't it fun to not know for sure if it would happen and then to watch it unfold and see his face? And he didn't even have on shoes! #Schadenfreude

I'm out tonight because it's Wednesday Wine Tasting night, but at this point I'm okay with either Liz/Steve/Vanessa winning (since JMac won't make it) so it should be a great end of the season. (((((((Everybody))))))

I still have a glimmer of hope that Vanessa will be so confident in her winning the next round that she will take JMac because she knows for sure she can beat him at final two. Steve did swear on his MOM that he would take Vanessa to the final two. If she would only believe he would take her instead of JMAC I think she would evict Liz. If Steve wants to have Vanessa keep JMac he needs to secure a final two deal with Liz than out her to Vanessa. I know I am delusional but I have to have some glimmer of hope to get me through the day until tonight's show.

nonobadfish , The path was, Steve HoH, (you got that), Jmac PoV, and then Jmac evicts Liz, to guarantee himself a F2 chair, booting Vanessa at F3, if he was the final HoH, or letting Steve or Vanessa carry him over the threshold, if they were the final HoH.

Still hoping for the slim chance that Vanessa decides to send Liz out ... But definitely preparing for the loss of our JMac

At least Austin went out before him… Best. Eviction. Ever. If JMac does in fact go tonight ..which is most likely...I hope Vanessa wins actually. If Steve or Liz does, I won't cry...but I'd rather it be her at this point.

Morning all,

Vanessa takes her biggest risk in the game, and it pays off, Jmac, is probably rethinking his own vote, and there is no clear answer in my mind, as to who will go home tonight.

Vanessa evicted Austin last night, in one of the few epic blindsides in the history of the series. Season 8 Dustin and Season 14 Shane's evictions are probably the only two that were more surprising for the evictee. Austin's parting gift to Vanessa, a public tantrum, where he let her know, loudly, you can't win the game.

When feeds came back, we finally found out Vanessa is the PoV holder. I saw almost no real campaigning, just a brief whispered Jmac convo in the back bedroom. Vanessa and Steve had a long game talk, and walked all around who to take. Much as with the Austin boot, there are pro's and con's to either Liz or Jmac. The common thread, Vanessa putting the fear of god in Steve over Liz's overwhelming odds to win the game, against either of them. I think she is building him up to accepting the Jmac boot, and accepting that his only chance to win will be against Vanessa.

Meanwhile, Jmac was sitting in bed, and I am sure he is going over his own reversal of fortune, since, if he had evicted Steve, he would be a lock for a F3 seat. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, indeed.

The real news, was Steve's epic breakdown. He went from manic plotting, whispering under his breath about evicting Vanessa for Liz, taking Jmac to F2, to breaking down sobbing, that Vanessa had told him to throw the PoV, and that he had, and now he can't win the game. It was the strangest performance, form the strangest House Guest, this season. Well worth a flashback. I cannot wait to see the show tonight, to figure out, what went on between Vanessa and Steve, after his HoH win, and prior to and during the Veto comp. If Steve did really throw it, then Vanessa can read Steve better than all of us, and truly chose wisely in keeping him in the game.

From a pure odds standpoint, I can't imagine her keeping Jmac in, but evicting Austin was a bigger gamble, and she did that, so who really knows what she is going to do, I don't. I told nonobadfish
near the beginning of the game, that I only understood half of Vanessa's thought process. I think that half left the building during the F5 HoH, and now, I am just along for the ride.

The final three are all going to be good competitors, no one will have a lock on the final HoH, no matter who gets booted, and the calculations of who to take will be totally personal, and largely invisible, even when Steve does talk to us.

Yep if she did convince him to throw it, he is a bonehead. She deserves this win, I may not have always liked her but she did this game good.

I saw an interview with Mel yesterday and she thinks Vanessa will bring Steve and JMac to the end. Here's hoping that she is somehow sending this telepathically to Vanessa. Of course JMac is my favorite but I don't even care at this point if he wins I just want Vanessa, Steve, and JMac in the final three. Will be extremely upset if Liz is sitting there.

Saw pix of Steve crying when he realized he had lessened his chances of winning against Vanessa by giving her the POV. John sees the writing on the wall, there's no way she's keeping him. Steve could have beaten John, but he's given away that opportunity. Despite Liz's built-in two votes, Steve can beat her and Vanessa can beat either Steve or Liz. So unless Steve stumbles again into another HOH win, put the crown on Vanssea.

So for me another lost season, where so many players allow themselves to be played. They see the evidence, but ignore it to their own peril. Yes, Vanessa was obviously the best player, but she also got lucky when Steve, the genius, accidentally won two HOH s. She also benefited by having strong players like Becky or James not having the ability to gather the troops against her. Bet they all regret not voting out Vanessa on Beckys HOH.

Well, I'm really done watching the shows since I don't wanna mourn John's departure tonight and don't want to see the anointing of Vanessa. I'll keep up in BBU, but just can't take any more viewing of the Vanessa Mack truck.

Looking toward to next season, notice they ran ads for player applications. So sounds like it won't be the expected All-Stars? Hopefully they bring in fewer summer camp kids and bring in more alpha gamers.

BettyBoo , I am not convinced Jmac is done. Even though I said yesterday that Austin's boot was 50/50, in my gut, I thought Vanessa would never ignore the overwhelming odds of her getting into F3 by keeping Austin in. Don't count that slightly crazy Dentist out.

I've set the auto record on the shows, so if my buds on BBU tell us he's still there, I can watch tonight's show. Otherwise, I can avoid the smirkfest (especially from Liz).

Apparently Vanessa won POV. Just curious...was Vanessa 'pushing' Liz to go first or was her initial 'push' for JMac? I ask because it seems to me her initial person is not the one that she really wants to go.

Also I'm not really sure who was playing who in the Steve/Vanessa conversation.

No doubt Vanessa wants to win this game but I believe she also wants to see certain people win the money if she doesn't. I wouldn't count JMac as being out yet. Funny how I went from 'game' to 'money'.

If JMac does go, he will no doubt tell the jury just 'how good Vanessa really is' and also just how much Steve was actually doing. I would expect him to be straight up and honest. I don't think it will be all about 'him' like it will be with Austin. JMO.

Also think she puts out testers to judge reactions. If others are happy with her initial choice, then it must be a bad choice for Vanessa, so she flips.

I have to wonder if Austin's rantings about Vanessa not being able to win the jury votes in the final 2 will stick with Steve. If Steve wins the final HOH I wonder if Austin's voice will come back to him & ultimately make him choose Van over Liz thinking Vanessa won't get the votes

I wondered the same thing. I've not seen the last two shows but was in chat last night and reading the BBU boards. My thot was: Austin'nah, your giving Vanessa even more cause to be taken to the end by stating she won't get your vote or anyone elses. He SURE left the game in grace and dignity....lol.

Jmac still has a shot if he plays it right. Vanessa said Liz has 2 guaranteed votes in jury. Jmac needs to point out to her that she likely has 4 votes. Austin is pissed at Vanessa for scumbagging him and he made that clear on the way out the door. He needs to remind Vanessa how close Meg and James were to Austin and the twins, and that now Austin will be working that jury against her, and FOR Liz. He also needs to tell her that taking him is her only shot at a win. If she's sitting beside any of her alliance members, she runs the risk of losing. She needs all of her scamper squad in jury because they will never vote for him over her. He needs to also tell her, that there is no way he can beat Steve with his comp wins and remind her how Steve worked hard at his social game but Vanessa didn't, so he can't possibly take Steve. His only option is to take Vanessa and hope the jury is bitter, plus remind her that Becky told him if he took Vanessa, she would vote for Vanessa over him. Come on Johnny, play that girl hard!!!!

BBhead, Exactly. I agree. I am still a Beautiful Dreamer and want anyone but Liz for the win. At least Vanessa has played her own game. Same with JMac. Steve has played his own game as long as Vanessa has let him.

I am not counting Johnny out. There is no way he will make that plea to Vanassa. That is not the way he has played the game. I do not understand him. He has the ability to have won the game and still may.

I have no idea how the jury will view the final two. Many of they do not see hat we see and Johnny does not appertaining to be a strong player. Liz has a good chance with two votes set. I still hope it is Steve and Vanassa. I want Vanassa to win, but will be happy with Steve winning.

Not sure Vanessa won't keep John. In her mind, he won't win because she has won way more comps than him (in her mind..in reality it's a couple more) plus he was evicted once already so the jurors won't vote for him to win. Liz might be a better boot for her because 1. she can't be fully trusted since Vanessa blindsided her boyfriend and 2. she doesn't think she can win against Liz?

I didn't watch the feeds last night though, so I might be missing something.

One other thing....I think Steve`s whole meltdown last night was fake as hell. It was another play for AFP in case he fails to make it to an F2 chair. Was never a Steve fan.

Steve sure was LOUD during that breakdown. That is what made me question it too. It was as if he wanted the others to hear him. I also FB to watch again and there was not a tear shed for all his wailing.

Steve may very well have put on the sobfest to try and garner the AFP, but he forgot that we BB fans don't like people that throw comps. Especially when it ultimately screws them in the end.

I am in with this group.....Steve's breakdown looked fake to me as well. I do want to say that some people can cry out of frustration and never shed a tear. They wail (and that's what he did). The reason I think it was faked was because he isn't that dumb. Why did he throw the POV? Like KeninVA said he wants to be like Derrick and not have to ''get blood on his hands''. Afterwards he realized that he might not be able to control what she does and he does want John in the mix. (Frustration). Oh well, I love Johnny Mac but his non-game talk is almost as irritating as Vanessa's non-stop game talk. If you could combine them perhaps we would have something eh? I just hope that when Vanessa and he shook when they decided to take out Austin, she meant it and will take him to F3. Then we'll see a match! She never made a deal with Liz to go to F2, so hopefully she knew what she was doing all the time.

I enjoyed the show last night when Steve asked Vanessa if she needed a friend or alone time...Vanessa said she really wanted to be alone and then Austin barges in. typical. so overconfident.

AND I thought it was hilarious when Julie said Austin was evicted. he just sat there with a dumbfounded look expecting her to say "just kidding" or something. priceless.

Lol I hope someone with .gif making abilities makes one of Julie and Austin shaking hands. It was one of those handshakes where Julie seemed to be kind of pulling away as she shook.
