Morning Geo and all who follow,

No real movement yesterday. Meg was told early this morning that she was the replacement nom. She publicly took it well. I am sure some nerves will crop up over the next few days, especially when the phone starts ringing. James/Jason have a early morning chat in the backyard and confirm that for them, Audrey remains next weeks target. And Austin continues to grow his little army, recruiting Becky, with Liz, and planting the seeds of keeping Audrey in the game, if they have power next week. Nothing left to see until after PoV, and whether Da goes back to her snappy self. I would also expect the phone to ring, and bring the twist back up, as a source of anxiety, for Shelli, Meg and Clay. (What if Da could stay in the game?)

I wouldn't take it well if I were Meg since that "Last Laugh" twist is in their minds. We know that it probably won't make a difference, but they sure don't. As you say, Ken (Hi Ken!!!!!), for all they know, it could be a twist that allows Da to stay in the game and Meg goes home. I guess taking it well "publicly" is the right thing to do, but I hope she's screaming inside. (I wonder, seriously, why all of them aren't more concerned with the twist. Seems like they should be...maybe the idea of a new twist every week overwhelms them so they just ignore them all?)

I would love it if they twist save Da...but disappointed it's not Audrey as the replacement nom. Megs cute but not a phenom as a player.

Hi everyone. I really hope the twist changes the game. Between Da and Meg, I would rather Meg went home. She doesn't really add anything to the game for me, and she is not a big enough player for production to want to keep. I would like Da to stay just to throw a wrench in Shelli and Clay's game, when you play personally and based on a showmance, you get a wasted HoH. Audrey not being the replacement nom, is a positive for Da IMO.

I definitely agree that playing personally is not good game play. I am torn between Da and Meg, I like them both. But if it backfires and Da stays, then it will give us more drama between Shelli, Clay and Da.

I am not sure Da can be saved, but for her, the key is Austin and Vanessa. If she could convince them that she is sincere in wanting to join them, and could potentially bring Jason along (even if only to promise to remain in a neutral corner, and not win HoH, or use the PoV against their targets). By adding two more to the outside group, Austin and Vanessa could take control of the game. With Becky, and a favorable twist, they control 4 votes, and with Jason and his "sympathy" vote, Meg would be bounced in a pretty epic blindside. The question is, does the chaos help or hinder them, this early in the game? I don't know the answer to that.

So far the theme music for this season should be Don McLeans Dreidel. "I feel like a spinning top or a dreidel. The spinning don't stop when you leave the cradle. It just goes on." Every time I'm sure I've organized this gang into teams, they seem to change their jerseys. First it's 'let's all get Audrey' then 'Da must go'. In the end the herd mentality kicks in for the vote, unless you're Audrey & throw in a hinkey vote (which was a game dud).

I'm sure Da will depart despite the Kathy twist which has yet to start. I do think Steve will go before Audrey since they fear his brain in challenges and he doesn't seem to have any allies. I thought Clay, Jeff, & Austin would be the new bro crew, but Shelli' s HOH put cracks in what could have been a powerful block. As KeninVA has noted, Austin could be building his troops for power moves, so could be good for him. Not so good for Clay & Shelli if the others decide they must be broken up for not only good game play, but some revenge.

But CBS owns the show, so TPTB can twist it anyway they want to keep the players and eventual winner THEY want for network show ratings. Right now I just don't want Audrey winning.

I don't see Audrey winning the whole game.... She started out way too fast and hard playing, and has gotten caught in so many of the lies and things.

They may keep her for a while, but I don't see her lasting.

Last season, I knew The game was Derrick's to lose from week 2. Typically can't call it like that.

(Hi Ken!! So glad you are back and posting!!)

I'm not even sure I know where everyone stands. I don't know why this year's house is so crazy for me to get ahold of!

Austin knows this game...and he has no chance getting an alliance with Meg, but could definitely stand a chance with Da. I hadn't even thought of this angle until you mentioned, Ken. Hmmmm. I wonder if Austin could get Vanessa to go along with it? I think she feels safe with Shelli and Clay (or at least with Shelli), so she might not see the need in it. But Austin needs friends, so this plan could work for him. I hope he sees it, because Meg brings nothing to the game for me (except cute bangs).

I totally agree that Austin and Vanessa are the key to Da staying, Vanessa more than Austin IMO. Vanessa has a way of presenting things without it feeling forced. If Da can get them on board with keeping her, they could convince Liz, Jason (she kinda already has), Becky, Steve, and even Audrey to keep her.

If it were me, I would try to keep it really wrapped up tight. Have only one person talk to Da, to preserve plausible deniability. I would not include Audrey, or Steve, since they don't really trust them, and can use them to deflect the vote. The obvious people to blame would be James, Jeff, Jason, and Audrey and Steve. Only Da would need to keep the secret (and the 4 outsiders, of course). It would set up some epic paranoia, and break the Jeff/Clay bond.

So true. Audrey is the least reliable and trustworthy of all the HGs.

I was anxious to see Audrey go - very strong personality and played so hard so fast. But with that being said I am quickly getting tired to Shelli/Clay! I would like to see Da stay and join with Vanessa, Austin, Jason and bust up Shelli/Clay next week.

When you say that, it makes sense, KeninVA , but I usually think you make sense - your ability to analyze and to articulate your analysis I find somewhat mesmerizing. Y'know, the old, but Ken says, so it must be...
On my own, however, I'm still pretty confused about all of this. How many votes will Da need to survive - 7 right? I mean, even if (by some miracle OR the hands of the BB gods), Austin, Vanessa, Liz/Julia, and Becky go along with this, that only makes 5 votes with Jason. Maybe they can pull in JohnnyMac, but I just can't find another vote to make this happen. What am I missing?

Really glad to "see" you here, Ken, and sending the best of good wishes to the Mrs. (and to Mr. Mark, while I am at it).

Thanks, Kenny. Makes more sense now. Think I was confused by nonobadfish 's comment : "I wouldn't take it well if I were Meg since that "Last Laugh" twist is in their minds. We know that it probably won't make a difference, but they sure don't." Nono is another one like Ken that I usually believe without question. She said the twist wouldn't affect anything, but the way you explain it, it really could.

SMEE!!! I'm so glad you count me as one you believe (you know I don't know anything, really!!!!). But until Ken mentioned that Austin and Vanessa could use Da, I was counting them as sure votes to evict her...and therefore the twist wouldn't make a difference. 12-1 to evict Da wasn't going to be changed by the twist of three votes not counting.

AND THEN Ken mentioned possibilities, and I could see how the twist could keep Da. (But first...Austin and Vanessa have to be on board. And since I'm at work and have no clue what's going on, I'm assuming that they don't know that I'm counting on them to make the game more fun.)
